Congratulations Coach Rapone!
Congratulations to Batavia Notre Dame boys basketball coach Mike Rapone on setting the Section V All-Time wins record!!! With the Irish win over Arkport last night at Letchworth HS, Coach Rapone passed the great Ed Nietopski for the most career wins by a Section V coach. He's done it with class and grace and most importantly with a deep love for teaching kids not only the game, but teaching them about life.
This game was much better than the GC v. Hilton game before it. Both teams scored a goal in the first period and it stayed tied until the third. Each team had a goal disallowed including a goal Aquinas scored with 4 minutes left in the game. Aquinas bounced back after the disallowed goal to score with about two minutes left and win 2-1.
