There's a difference between trying to get in the head of an opposing player and disrespecting them. We're loud and obnoxious, but we show respect. We dont do inappropriate chants or antics of any kind. Maybe if you had gotten your facts straight before you posted, you wouldnt have just made yourself look like an idiot.

There is no such thing as losing, its called second place. Ohhh everyone is so great just for trying. This positive only crap is ruining American high school sports. Everyone has to face adversity at some point in life, a little of it in a sporting event helps you get "thicker skin" to handle it.

Im really racking my brain on this one, but its funny because I cant seem to find anything "lacking in class" that we do. The worst thing we do is the "airball" chant. Oh my god, so classless.

Just because you were probably the victim of atomic wedgies, kick-me signs, and swirlies when you were in high school doesnt mean you have to dump your bitter feelings on everyone else.

Woo Kyle and I!

I think both sides of this argument need to take a step back, I can see where greatnorth is coming from. There is a lot of negative cheering (not saying it's from the crazies) but I do also believe believe the Crazies are the most respectable cheering section in the GR. This is an argument that will always come up though...

When you're cheering and booing and yelling at the opposing player, nothing is really personal. There's a fine line between being competitive and having fun and being rude and disrespectful.

As soon as the final whistle is blown I could really care less about what happened during the game. Friends will be friends and enemies will remain enemies. I know that as CRAZIES we've booed players who may be our friends and said the same things to them as we would to anybody else. But in the end it doesn't really matter.

It's competitive spirit. You can talk crap to an opponent all game, but none of it's personal. It doesn't matter who you are, the only thing that matters between the whistles is the fact that you're trying to beat us. And we don't like it. So that's all. Nothing personal, just fun.

Listen Boobie, I see how you operate. I was at the Bloomfield game last year. The Bloomfield fans started to chat just like you do during the game. The Oakfield supervisors came into the stands and made them stop or they would be removed. Double standard isn't it. I agreed with your supervisors, but it should work both way. Some bad vibes were starting which could have lead to more serious problems. That is why that rule is in place, to prevent problems. I see selective enforcement dependant on the score.

I have done a hundred games at OA through the years. I have been offered help many times from the "Crazies", especially at the end opposite the OA team bench. It's all in good fun. I have had fans offer me eye glasses, advice, help on a call (the ball was always going to OA....hmmm). I found it all to be very amusing and many times had fun with them. It was a great atmosphere, and what HS basketball should be about.

No air horns or whistles are allowed in the stands. And don't run at me. I have learned to lead with my forearm pretty well.

It's also clear to me that some schools are more tolerant with what they allow than others. There are no blanket rules as far as I know.

Holley may quite be the most lenient school in the nation. They ask us to not yell at ref's and players, they don't really enforce that.

I think that every official understands they're going to get yelled at and harassed. If they didn't they wouldn't choose to officiate. With the good officials, it means nothing anyways. They could care less what you have to say to them.

Your "double standard" was created by the content of their "cheering." The profanity coming from that end of the gym in the form of chants has never come from us. They were not cheering "just like us," otherwise they would not have been reprimanded.

Couldnt agree more. We're loud and obnoxious, but we stay classy while we do it. And you're not the only ref that appreciates what we do. We carry on conversations with refs during stoppages in almost every game. In fact I remember a ref telling me once that I look just like McLuvin. Ok there bob. I'm pretty sure that if a member of the OA Crazies saved a child from a burning building, Great North would call him classless for failing to put out the fire as well. What do you have against our school? Something from your high school days that your inflated ego cannot seem to handle? You obviously have more troubling issues to deal with than conversations about high school basketball cheering sections. You admonish the Crazies for their "negativity," yet you back it up by hiding behind an anonymous user name and spewing the same "negativity." What you're doing takes alot of cajones, let me tell ya.

Contrary to what Great North's selective hearing suggests, its sad that after everything that happened at that game, he still has the nerve to call us classless. I remember having a conversation with the chaperone on our side of the gym about the curse words being yelled from the Bloomfield side. But I forgot, they were just doing what we do.

What he said.

Well I'm just sayin that's all everybody does here is whine about what other people think...oakfield and holley people have ruined this site..
Wow cool holley is actually good on sports for once this year it's about time bc they have always been pathetic
Hahahaha. Oakfield people have rode this site from the very beginnings to where it is now. Hahahahaha.

Of course. The Oakfield teachers care way more about winning a basketball game than enforcing class. Yup. You got it right.

Good man.

Maybe you just don't get it because fans at your school never have anything to cheer about.

If it's pointless, why are you on it?

About the same time that just about everybody else has been.

Exactly.

What he said.
