The top 4 teams (Thomas, CC, McQ, Athena) have only have 3 losses total between them. If you look at the other Classes they have double or tripple that, this should be a good bracket.
I read in the paper that McQ lost to John Jay 3-2 in the Hall of Fame Tournament. The website shows they tied 2-2 does anyone have info on that?
Big Games still to be played
Thomas plays Athena, CC, and McQ as 3 of thier final 6 games..
McQ plays Liverpool, AQ, Thomas, Jefferson as 4 of thier final 7
CC plays Thomas, Williamsville
Athena plays Thomas
Predictions on Seeds?
1. Thomas
2. McQ
3. CC
4. Athena

McQuaid is the best team in AA, but I could see either them, Thomas, or Athena winning it. Churchville probably has the best goalkeeping out of those teams though. Thomas did blow a 4-0 lead, but they also emptied their bench to begin the 2nd half. Thomas dominated them the entire 1st half. I have seen both Athena v Churchville games, and both have consisted of Athena outplaying CC for the majority of the game, but giving up late goals. Seeding will mean everything. If the seeding stands, McQuaid will coast to the final (can't see churchville competing) and Thomas and Athena will meet yet again for a 4th consecutive year in sectionals (Thomas has won in OT all 3 times)

I agree seeding in this Class will be very important. I have to say I thought that the 4-0 blow up at Thomas was just one of those games but now Churchville gives Thomas thier first loss of the year 2-1. Thomas has not played well during the past few weeks with a few close games. I know they play McQ so that could be the number 1 seed game. Is it possible if McQ and Thomas tie that Churchville could get the number 1 seed? Thomas and McQ in the semis would be quite a shock.

Any Predictions? Can any of the top 4 seeds lose in the opening round?
McQ and Thomas game was very good the other night, it was well worth my dollor. Both teams played sloppy, but I think the atmospehere did that.
McQ vs. Athena in the Semis - hard to see Athena beating McQ as they were not able to beat Thoams or Churchville during the regular season. McQ score way to many goals, I'll take McQ 3-1
Thomas and Churchville - Thomas has loss 2 of there last 3 games (to CC and McQ) is it possible they would lose 3 out of 4? This might be the best game on paper but only of the Churchville keeper saves the game. This is a bad match up for Churchville I think Thomas could blow them out 5-1.

Athena V Thomas In The Finals Mark My Word.
Athena Will Beat Mcquaid. I Don't Know How You Can Say 3-1 Mcquaid Based On All The Goals They Score>>>they Play In The City Catholic League Against Garbage Teams. Their Stop Scorer Baker Won't Sniff The Goal If Nick Garcia Is On Him. Mcquaid Is Very Talented Though, On Paper Probably The Best Team In Section V (of Course They Recruit So Why Shouldn't They) So It Will Be A Very Good Semi-final. And Like You Said The Atmosphere Tends To Effect The Pace Of The Game, So I Don't See This Game (if It Happens) Being Any Different. Mcquaid Likes To Pass The Ball Around As Does Athena, But In A Sectional Game Like That, The Game Is Going To Be Won On 50/50 Balls And Heart.
Thomas V Churchville- Probably Going To Be Close As Well, I Would Say Thomas 3-1 Or Something Of That Nature. Schuber And Reidy Are Too Much To Handle.

I agree Athena is a tougher team, but I think they can't stop McQ from getting to the back of the net. Athena has had a led in a number of games this year only to get caught with 4 or 5 ties. Athena and Thomas would be for the third time this year and for the 4th or 5th time in a row during sectionals with Thomas winning each one.
Thomas should beat Churchville just on pure revenge after blowing the 4-0 lead and then losing to them a few weeks ago. Again I see this as a bad match for Churchville, but if the game is close then they have a shot. Again my pick is a blow out like 5-1. If its a 1-0 game then I'll take the Churcville Keeper all day long.

I saw most of both games last night. McQuaid and Thomas just have those special players that will make and break games.
It'll be interesting to see the rematch game of those two teams. I'm interested to see how they do when they have to put just as much focus on defending top players as other teams put on their best players.
I think McQuaid plays a much better more compact team defense, especially in the middle third of the field, that could be a key to their success. Because of their discipline to keep their shape, they're able to get out on attack better. Their positioning off the ball is what really flustered Athena, to the point Athena just started to try hail mary's on each possession.

Game 1 McQ vs. Athena. If that first shot goes in during the opening minute Athena could have kept this close. I think the Athena keeper was very weak and they paniced to quick. It looked like they were only playing 3 guys in the back and trying to get more attack. Not a bad idea but wrong idea against McQ. Baker is having a great year and they took the shots they needed. I think they also are suspect on defense and in goal, but score enough to control the tempo
Game 2 Thomas vs. CC. While I predicted Thomas would win 5-1 I was surprised how poorly Thomas played. I think they try to play on skill and do not have much of a team concept, that is how they will get beat with a good game plan. Churchville obviously missed thier 2 starters as they had very little offense and were never able to get into a flow for a team with only 1 loss. The irony is if Churchville beat Thomas I think they would be a perfect match-up for McQ and would beat them if not shut them out. Thomas is a bad match for McQ and I see McQ winning the game 3-1.
