Someone had asked if Cal-Mum had open enrollment and about all of the towns that kids live in. I could not reply because I had just joined. Cal-Mum does not have open any more than any school that allows a non-resident to pay tuition and attend. The school is on the Monroe/Livingston/Genesee border and has kids from a variety of towns like Wheatland, Chili, Riga, Leroy and so on. Many rural areas have several towns that make up the school like Letchworth (not even a place) or Attica which has a huge school district.

I had originally brought up the question of whether or not they had open enrollment based on the D&C photos of different Cal-mum players and then identifying what town they lived in. There was 1 player from Churchville and another from Scottsville. I wasn't trying to imply anything just wondering why they had identified the players that way, it seemed kinda of strange. By the way not every school has that policy. Bath closed it's district a few years back and kids who live outside the district cannot enroll even if they are willing to pay tuition to attend.

But like was stated above, the C-M district lies across some funny town, county and post office lines, so kids have a bunch of different zip codes, phone numbers, addresses and even taxes.

The school district borders zig-zag for Gates-Chili, Churchville-Chili, Wheatland-Chili and Caledonia-Mumford school districts. Also, I think that because Wheatland-Chili doesn't have a football program, kids in Wheatland-Chili have the option of going to Caledonia-Mumford schools, so it might be possible for kids living in the Town of Chili to be going to Cal-Mum. A friend who lives out in Wheatland told me this is the case, can somebody in the know confirm this or tell us if this is wrong.

there are ways around closed districts. i know kids (not athletes on school teams, just some friends) who go to bath but do not actually live in the district - they have family in the district, so they put that as their address and are considered in district..because the school really has no way to know they aren't.
