What a great turnout out today and getting to meet some of section 5 elite players
Wayne Carroll HC at Bath what a class person , you can see why his teams are winners on and off the field
Clay Harris Sr - What a great guy and you can see why his boys are successful on and off the field
Kala, Richard and Al Gause , thanks for bringing this 7 on 7 to WNY and working so hard in helping Section 5 players, this event will only get bigger and bigger
Mr Cooper unreal guy , who has instilled a work ethic in his son on and off the field, that will only make Colin a better person
Quentin Gause what a physical specimen and great kid
Mike Ingoglia - Mike looked good out there today is sitting on a huge season for Hilton
Marcus McGill - What a great young man, he understands what it takes to get it too the next level and you can see in his eyes how bad he wants this
Malcolm Frazier get in the weight room young man and become the leader you are and show your teamates what hard work is all about in the off season
Colin Cooper - wow is all I can say , when a Southern Coach tell me this sis the best tape of a section 5 players he has seen in 3 years, you know this player is like a rocketship , heading in the right direction
Nick Carroll - Boy is this one fine young man, Nick don't worry your offer will come, bang down every door possible and someone will offer you, you have the character and physical makeup all colleges are looking at
Jordian Gause - This is my hidden gem , once he gets his tape out coaches will see that he was unreal motor and basically is a under the radar kid
Christian Harris - This youg man is like a bomb that is going to explode next year and make a huge name for himself, as he is a unreal hard worker and just getting to understand what this recruiting process is all about
and now my underclass man , you will be hearing about in 1-2 years
Chandler Harris is going in 1-2 years show how really good he can be , once his body starts to develop and look at his older brothers, Chandler is going to be next great RH player

Did his father play running back at UMass during the 90's?

That would be Mike's Uncle
Rene had a scholarship to ND , then suffered a season ending knee injury , and ended up at U Mass where he was the all time leader rusher , I think Tim Hightower might have passed him

him being carried off and propped up against the fence on the visitors side of the old field. Somehow the kid returned to the game and ran hard for a while before being injured again never to return.

First I would like to thank all that showed up for the Badger Sport 7 on 7 Team NY tryout. All in all about 60 kids all pretty much representing Section V took part in the activities. The event was filmed and has been turned over to the Badger Sport Coordinators for selection. Selected kids will be receiving a phone call or email from Badger Sports sometime this week, and asked to represent Team NY at Rutgers Feb 27th. If a selected player cannot attend, an alternate in the same position will be called. A special thanks to the coaches, parents, and friends that were on hand. Former Victor standout, and U of Albany LB Chris Simpson was on hand to give back to his community, and I'd like to say thanks to him as well.
Within about 7 - 10 days, each kid will have a profile on scout.com, that will help create more national exposure for our kids, so even if not selected to team, each kid will get something out of coming to camp. New Level Athletics CEO was very surprised to find that Rochester, NY had more talent than what he thought. He encouraged parents and kids to begin marketing themselves by attending quality camps while still underclassmen, and also keeping the grades up. Rochester is lucky to have one of those camps coming in May, and thats Schuman's National Underclassmen Camp. Get registered!! We need to ride the wave of national attention coming into our area, and keep recycling athletes, so that Section V will become a Hot Spot for quality student-athletes to get recruited nationally.
New level and Badger Sports are both looking to make this event an annual event, and maybe even semi-annual do to the positive showing. Will do my best to keep you posted with any news or information that gets passed along my way. Once again thanks to all that participated, you made it a success.

Along with the top level high school athletes in section 5
Would this camp also help very good players, but maybe are more on the level of D2 or upper level D3 football programs???

Yes, I believe that these various camps will develop any athlete to get better no matter what level they end up.

There were some kids and Parents eating at a resturant in Webster and talking about their exprience at the 7 on 7 Last Monday. They spoke about a defensive coach that was showing & teaching, sharing and directing them to play better. He kept talking about the next level and not to be affraid of competition.
They talk about Chris Simpson who played at Victor H.S. How he shared about his life.
I heard parents talk about some Kid name Nick, and how he got the nickname "LockDown" while playing Defensive back against some great talented wide recievers in section V.
Who ever was directing and coaching the Quarterbacks was very electric and patient. One parent said her son is a Sophomore QB and learned alot in just a few hours from a short coach. She said, " he was a good teacher". she added " He explained to my son about finding the passing window."
They spoke about the high level of competition in attendance. Wow! was it alot of good people.
It was great to hear the excitment from these parents and kids. This is what is needed get exposure for these kids. Then so be it!
Congrats, to Mr. KGause for helping and supporting all kids and parents in the area. Your effort and direction will not go unnoted. Great Job. Please don't stop doing what your doing.

Thank you, but just wanted to say it's not an individual effort, it has been more of a team effort when it comes down to helping these young men. Just a few names that I would like to thank for helping make this event happen.
The short guy that was mentioned as a 'good teacher' was Jason Muhammed, the head coach from Marshall High School of the RCSD, and helping him out was staff member John Defazio, together, they represented the city schools very well, and taught every kid how to play their positions better. Also helping coach the defense was Larry Long, former standout from Greece Olympia, and Chris Simpson from Victor, and also the staff from New Level Athletics, and scout.com led by Kashawn Simmons from New Jersey...thanks to all of you.
Also special thanks to parents, Larry Casey (McQuaid), Clay Harris Jr (Rush-Henrietta), Lawrence Caples (West-Irondequoit), Wayne Carroll (Bath) and Mike Cooper (Geneva) for all stepping up and volunteering your time to work with these kids. Can't forget about my brothers Rick, and Al Gause for being there, and putting up with me to help pull this off. Thanks!
And most of all I thank all the kids in attendance, and there parents on making this special event a success. Without you, none of the coaches, volunteers, or organizers would have been there, and the event wouldn't have happened. We will continue to do more events like this in the near future, this is just the beginning. If I'm forgetting anyone, I apologize, and I thank you too!
Last but not least, I thank the skeptics, and haters that are afraid to get involved or pass information along to kids that can help them in there futures. It is you that motivate me to not sit on my but, and just comment about whats happening in the world with our kids, but to actually try to reach out to them by using the tool of football, and help change their course before it's too late for them. There are 3 types of people in the world:
1. People who make things happen.
2. People who watch things happen.
3. People who don't even know what's happening.
You determine with your actions where you fit in, not by what you say! I'd also like to thank everyone for your comments on the event, it really means the world to the team that helped put this together. As the responses have been overwhelmingly positive....Look for more events real soon.

This event was great! I saw so many young men pushing themselves to get better. They were taking advice from people they didn't even know. They showed RESPECT to these men and when they messed up on a play they pushed harder on the next one. Hats off to the youth and coaches, this was great. I got to meet some parents and see some young men that I will look forward to following 2010 season. Rochester has some talent and were very low on the recruiting radar. Gentlemen like the guy said "Market yourselves" if you start to draw attention to Rochester far as recruitment think how many doors you will open for kids under you. Section V needs this and was just a start in my eyes. Yo KGause great job and East High 4ever. LOL

Would love to try to get him as an alternate, he's a great kid. I was told that Aquinas kids didn't need any help, because they have their own program and run their own camps. Personally, I've spoke to a few D1 coaches about Bostic, Messina, LoBrutto, and my nephew Jamal Pardner within the last few days. All of which would be some pretty good additions to have. This shows that the size of the school doesn't matter anymore. As long as kids practice hard, show potential , have grades and remain humble and coachable, than the possibilites are endless no matter what the talent level is around them.

First, I think K Gause's statement about wanting Bostic as an alternate was him being generous as it wouldn't be fair to the kids that did participate to just put him on the team. I'm pretty sure that all area kids had the same opportunity to participate, maybe next time the AQ kids won't look down on opportunities that can possibly help them gain more exposure. And stop making this an AQ versus All the others schools city.

Your friend RJE doesn't seem to think so...Sorry if you think thats a low blow, just thats what it seems like sometime. No other schools in the area act like they are better than everyone else except AQ. And thats staff and students most of the time. the stuff AQ goes through with section five is a competle joke. mcq,bk,finney and the other private schools don't take half the stuff that aq takes. No one will schedule them to a game in football in the season besides the fellow private schools that's a joke. Anytime a kid transfers to AQ it's a "sports move according to the fans of section five".No people leave city schools and greece schools because the enviroment is awful at those schools. Im pretty sure if aq acted like Rh before games then bianchi and taggs would have put there footdown on that.

This thread is about the kids from our community that participated and got selected to represent Team NY, and not one AQ kid on the list. Why? Is it because they are being hated on? Or maybe they didn't get invited? Or is it because AQ is being alienated and victimized by the rest of Section V?
rje5270

which the last time I checked was their right. Nothing against K. Gause (because he certainly seems to put a lot of time and effort in helping kids) but maybe the AQ kids are too busy with other sports or simply didn't feel the need to get involved. As for my comment about Bostic, all I implied is that if went out for the team he would be a starter rather than an alternate. He didn't so I guess its a moot point.

Doesn't Section V have athletes in the NFL presently as well as in the past. It may not be a lot, but that doesn't mean kids shouldn't do every thing they can to improve. This 7on 7 was just another opportunity to get kids out there working on there game. Football is a different animal than other sports where participation is year round (soccer, lax, hockey) so anythhing a kid can do to stay competitive and at the same time get some exposure its a good thing. As for kids not starting in other states thats foolish. The best kids around here would often start on teams in Ohio or Pennsylvania, the difference in the football heavy states is that there are multiple kids on a given team with a higher level of talent.

fact still Is kids who are stars in section five would be backups in most good states like the Florida's and Ohio's. There is an amount of kids on 1 hand I can count who can play in those states.
The kids from Texas, Florida, Ohio and so on come from areas where football is King. If the Section V kids were exposed to football programs year around they would excel as well. Section V has athletes that can compete anywhere in my opinion. These camps and combines in the off season are just what Section V needs to raise the football commitment and awareness in the area. Mr Gause you are an outstanding benefit to Section V and the kids who compete in it..... Thank You.

Don't follow class B that much but on paper looked like he did pretty good in the stat sheets that I looked at. Will watch some tape to get a better look but Hornell Should be the team to beat again next year it looks like in class b.
And get this, This was only Scavo's second season of organized football EVER! He didn't play any football at all as a freshman due to back surgery and he qb'd a team to a state championship. 6'3'' 205 pounds, great arm, runs very well with the ball also and I've seen him get out and block for his RB too.
Our qb here at Bath is a kid named Danny Leonard who was only a freshman and played very well and threw the ball very well. Gonna be fun to watch him develop over the next 3 years also.

He's going to be a great Qb the next two seasons for Hornell. I expect his numbers to only get better.
