Any thoughts? What has happened to the Steuben County portion of this site, last year people would have been all over this game. I have Prattsburgh winning on it's home court 53-47. I don't see Prattsburgh losing 2 in a row at home, but the big guns better step up and create, or that score could be reversed!!!!

Senior Night in Prattsburgh and 4 of the top 5 guys are Seniors. Prattsburgh will be ready to play, especially coming off a loss at Home to Notre-Dame.
It will be tough no doubt about it. If Prattsburgh can pressure the C-S guards and Parker can contain Sutton then I like Prattsburgh's Chances.

I feel that Prattsburgh is going to have their hands full. I think they have been struggling offensively against good defensive teams. 3 of their last four games they have struggled to put points on the board. Arkport handled them with ease, C-G gave them all they could handle, and Sat. NDB held them to a low scoring output. C-S still plays good defense, so I think I will give the edge to C-S in that category. However, I think Prattsburgh plays good enough defense to stay in the game and home court is a huge factor in the game. Rebounding edge goes to C-S, tight game all the way, C-S wins by 5.

I think Prattsburgh will win by 8. Doubt they'll lose two home games in a row.

I would like to apologize on behalf of all of the fans from Prattsburgh, for the way our mascot acted towards the Cambell-Savona fans. We do not condone that behavior, and you can be sure that if anyone near the scorers table saw that, he won't be trying to start the wave again!!!!

I am not sure what he did, but I will say this...for YEARS, Steuben County teams and fans had to put up with the unsportsmanlike antics of the Rural Rowdies or whatever they were called from CS, so one good turn, deserves another!

Hold on a second, I am not your son. You could show some respect in your post, its not as though I said Prattsburgh wasn't good enough to win. I simply stated an opinion based on facts. I am happy they won. Be a good winner as you would hope that your fans would have been good losers had they lost. Go on and beat J-T! Good luck

In defense of the Prattsburgh maskot, those C-S fans got everything they deserved. Maybe next time they'll think twice before "boo"ing him on his own home cort while trying to build up team spirit and pump up the crowd, esp. since Prattsburgh no longer has a cheerleading squad. We appreciate everything he has done this year in support of the team and the fans. We hope you keep up the team spirit Mr. Viking.

I think the rural rowdies Is what everyschool needs, I've heard so many stories about how in the 80s even 90s the crowd were sixth men today it just seems like their is no meaning..... Now I'm not condoning what the rural rowdies would do was sportsmanlike but it seems like all schools should have student sections

That kid is not from Prattsburgh as players, or COACHES for that matter, have no reason to come on here, make predictions about their own league, or other teams they face during the course of the season. They do their talking on the court. I am guessing the "Word Son" kid is from CS since you predicted CS would win by 5 and he agreed

Good God Almighty! Who the hell cares about what the mascot did or didn't do? The story of tonight was the game Prattsburgh played, likely their best contest and playing one of their worst games of the year.....
Um, that gym in Prattsburgh was pretty loud tonight for both sides and there wasn't a need or desire for a student cheering section to do lame chants and think they are the Cameron Crazies in order to get either side going.

I'm simply just saying that only big games draw people like senior nights I think that every game should be big

put a good team on the court, you will draw people...if you need gimmicks to get people to come to the game, that is sad...trouble with most of the student cheer sections is that they try to become bigger than game or the players and often serve as a distraction..........

Just after seeing the sections they had back then just like in Hoosiers it would be awesome to play gameslike that every night

The booing by us, to the refs was unsportsmanlike, but cheering is fun and does get the crowd involved. We do not have cheerleaders and I love the spirit of our Viking Mascot. He was booed and we were winning and he simply pointed to that fact. He did not tell them to shut up or call them names, while they were being extremely discourteous to him, now that would have been unsportmanlike. Also when their small squad of cheerleaders did the half time routine, we all watched and clapped politely. NO ONE booed them nor would we, we are vikings after all.. You can say talk about the game only, but we had worse sportsmanship showed by both sides of the fan base than was shown by this popular young man who is simply a big fan. It was a great night for PCS and this small incident should not mar our win over Camp/Sav.

Must have been your first Prattsburgh game?!?!?
As someone that has known the referees and worked with them very closely up to Prattsburgh for 10 plus years, a majority of the refs, let me rephrase that, the GOOD refs, LOVE reffing in Prattsburgh because of the atmosphere and they know the crowd is going to let them have it. It is all part of the game. The officiating last night was excellent and anytime you have Tony Falco on the game, your going to have a great game called, in my opinion

If all the mascot did was point to the scoreboard, then to me this seems like much adieu about nothing. That goes on in about every gym I've ever been in on a nightly basis. The way this was being portrayed I thought someone went into the CS cheering section and picked a fight or something.
It's fun to let kids cheer and show spirit. As long as it doesn't get personal, and to me this isn't a personal issue.

Again, this is just another ridiculous waste of time and I have no idea why it was even brought up. First, I don't think anyone needs to apologize for Prattsburgh. I'm from Prattsburgh and I don't need anyone speaking on behalf of me on here. The Campbell student section has been unsportsmanlike for years, and now we are supposed to feel some type of sympathy for them because as they were getting their doors blown off the hinges last night, some kid dressed up as a Viking pointed at the scoreboard???? Who cares??? I guess no one remembers all those years the Rowdies would chant "you can't do that" to a kid on another team that traveled or made a mistake or even chanted "scoreboard" at an opposing teams fanbase? What goes around comes around kids.....If I was a fan of Campbell-Savona, I would be more upset at the way my team seemed to not care about the game after the 1st quarter and not what some kid dressed as a Viking was doing.....

Haha good call Lukelakers! Even though not every "call" the fans make is correct, we will certainly let them know how we feel! I loved playing in the atmosphere that the Prattsburgh fans created, and I still love being part of the atmosphere now watching the games from the other side of the court.
Unfortunetly, I had to miss this game because I had a night class, but i heard, and by the way everyone is talking, that it was a good game for Prattsburgh.

great point!!! who cares that the mascot pointed at the scoreboard???the talk should be about the fact that the vikings coming off a tough loss to bnd played what i thought was a terriffic basketball game!!!they seemingly put that loss behind them, and really focused on the task at hand. i'd like to hear everyone's thought on what this does for prattsburgh, as well as c-s mentally heading into counties!!!

Definately a confidence booster, they need that to carry over to the J-T game Thursday night. It's J-T's senior night and although I believe they only have 2-or-3 seniors I'm sure they'll be just as pumped up for it as the Prattsburgh boys were last night.
As far as what it means for Counties, Prattsburgh has to play like they did last night from here on out. Although they won the game easily I still feel they missed way to many "Chippies" easy lay ups that they should have made, they would have put 85-90 points last night if they hit those shots.....
As far as C-S they're nursing some injuries, they have to get Zach Sutton healthy in order to do anything in the County Tournament and Sectionals. I'm sure after last night they'll have to get their confidence back as well. It looks like right now they're going to be the #4 seed in the county tournament and would have to play Arkport in the 2nd round if they beat Addison or C-G in the first round. So they have a tough road ahead of them........... One thing I liked about them was their shooters, Knowles, Barney & Freshman Mitchell Allen could all knock down 3's, that's a good thing to have, and they ran good set plays for the shooters. The Allen kid could be the next big star at C-S if he keeps working hard, very good for a 9th grader

i got to meet the thurber kid last summer. He played on the same aau team with my son and the other prattsburgh players, he is a really good player, but more importantly a really good kid. I find it hard to root against him, but in this case i will be!!!good luck to him and the rest of the seniors, but my loyalty is with the vikings!!! To me this is what high school sports is all about. good kids going toe to toe, but when it's all said and done, being able to respect the other kids out there and I know that the kids that played with thurber have alot of respect for him!!!

I agree 100% I've known Brennan Thurber since he was in 5th grade and he's a great, great kid. I've been friends with his family quite a while now and they're great, great people. I too want the Vikings to win tomorrow but I'll be cheering for "B-Man" as well.

As always there are two sides to every story. That doesn't make what the mascot did acceptable. However, if he was getting harrassed and awful things were being said to him and all he did was point to the score board, is that really that bad?
