Does anyone have a list of the all-stars and honorable mentions from last year's baseball season from the Genesee Region?

Genesee Region League coach of the year Ben Whitmore's
team did something it hasn't done in a long time.
Fourteen years, in fact.
Alexander won the Division I title with a 12-4 league
record and 13-5 overall mark. The Trojans wrapped up
the title with a 9-3 win at Attica in the final game
of the regular season.
Leading the way was sophomore pitcher Zach Leitten,
who struck out 76 batters during the regular season
with an impressive 1.63 ERA. At the plate he added one
home run and a .492 batting average.
Senior outfielder Phil Odebralski had a .484 batting
average, a .545 on base percentage and knocked in 20
runs while hitting three homers.
Odebralski — who had the game winning hit in a game
against Holley — plans on attending the State
University of New York College at Oneonta, where he
will major in graphic design and play baseball.
Junior second baseman Donovan Flint made the all-star
squad after hitting .429 with 10 doubles, 11 RBIs, two
triples and a home run, a grand slam that was the
first homer of his career. He also stole five bases.
Flint also pitched 19 innings, compiling a 3-1 record
with 41 strikeouts and an era of 4.79.
Sophomore catcher/outfielder Ben Antonucci was safe on
9-of-10 stolen base attempts and batted .441 with two
home runs and 29 runs scored. He only struck out twice
all season long.
The other all-stars are:
Geoff Redick, Notre Dame — Junior center fielder led
the Fighting Irish in batting with an average of .400
and an OBP of .486 ... team highlight is the team
getting better as the season went on and making a run
to the sectional finals ... had multi-hit games in
half of the league games played.
Jeremy Squire, Notre Dame — Second-time all-star
played third base ... led the Fighting Irish in hits,
doubles and RBIs and had a .383 batting average with
an OBP of .445 ... scored 13 runs and had two or more
RBIs in six league games ... was the Birds Eye Player
of the Week in Week 8 ... senior will attend
Mercyhurst College in the fall.
Jason Kirkum, Oakfield-Alabama — Junior
pitcher/shortstop had a huge year at the plate and on
the hill ... went 5-2 with 77 strikeouts and an ERA of
1.64 ... drove in 15 runs and had a home run with a
batting average of .532 ... winning the Honeoye
Tournament was a season highlight.
Jon Flannery, Byron-Bergen — Senior simply puts the
bat on the ball, not striking out for a second
consecutive season after one K as a sophomore ... led
the GR with a .540 batting average ... had four
doubles, two home runs, seven walks, 15 stolen bases
and 13 RBIs ... on the hill went 4-3 with two saves
... had an ERA of 1.32 with 49 strikeouts and 11 walks
... will be playing baseball at Alfred State next
year.
Scott Brooks, Holley — Senior catcher was as good
defensively as at the plate, throwing out 13 would-be
base stealers ... had a .529 batting average with 16
RBIs, six steals, nine doubles, a triple and 14 walks
... the Hawks finished 11-7 this season and the
highlight win was a walk-off win against Alexander ...
Brooks will attend SUNY Brockport next year to major
in sports broadcasting and pursue a college baseball
career.
Tom Brice, Holley — Pitcher struck out 93 batters and
walked 32 with an ERA of 1.14 ... senior will attend
Genesee Community College in the fall to major in
physical education/personal training.
Devin Schaefer, Kendall — Junior first baseman hit
.412 in the league and made 85 putouts ... beating
Alexander 11-2 was a season highlight ... went 3-for-3
with a double and two triples in a game against
Wheatland-Chili.
Don Kirsch, Attica — Two-time all-star had a .465
batting average with 11 stolen bases, 22 RBIs and 29
runs scored ... had 35 stikeouts in 38 innings of work
on the hill ... played in a sectional championship
game as a freshman, when he had a pinch hit single ...
senior will attend SUNY Fredonia to major in sports
management and play baseball.
Aaron Kent, Lyndonville — Senior outfielder had a .500
league batting average and a .474 overall average with
seven doubles, two triples, four home runs, 17 RBIs
and 12 walks ... went 4-2 on the mound with a 1.27 ERA
and 65 strikeouts ... season highlights include
beating Notre Dame for the first time in coach Shane
Price's career, hitting a home run on the first pitch
of a game against Byron-Bergen and hitting the game
winning double in a sectional game ... will attend
Mohawk Valley Community College to play baseball and
study physical education.
Ryan Kopper, Pembroke — Senior third baseman had the
game winning hit in a win over Alexander ... had a
.483 batting average with 22 RBIs, 11 steals, five
doubles and a triple ... only struck out five times
all year ... will attend Niagara University next year.
Shaun Smingler, Wheatland-Chili — Outfielder's season
highlight was beating Oakfield-Alabama for the first
time in over 20 years ... had a .431 batting average
with a .527 on base percentage and 10 RBIs, 18 runs,
10 stolen bases and a home run ... senior will attend
Monroe Community College to major in physical education.

I think Flint is too inconsistant. He has good stuff, he has a good curveball, but he gets too frustrated too easily. Then he'll start overthrowing and become wild and it falls apart then. If he would keep his emotions down, he would be a lot more efficient. Leitten has a very nasty slider and his fastball has amazing velocity and with the accuracy he has, he is by far the best pitcher in the GR. Kirkum has a very good fastball too, but he doesn't have the same accuracy as Leitten, but it's still good and his breaking ball is a good complement to the fastball. But he can lose his temper too, but not as bad as Flint. Kosek has a good curve, but I just don't think he has the overpowering velocity. His control is good though with all of his pitches. I have seen him throw a curve on all different counts so that helps the hitters stay off balance. I think one young gun that will be a major impact this year will be Noah Seward of O-A. Last year as a freshman, he had good speed and excellent junk pitches to keep the hitters off balance. He is sure to be a nice 2nd man in the rotation with Kirkum. Pat Mancuso from Notre Dame will probably be solid too. He, somewhat like Kosek, has very good off-speed pitches, but not devestating velocity like Leitten or Kirkum. But him being one of the only good lefties in the league will work to his advantage. This kid from Kendall, Steadman maybe? Last year as a freshman, he beat Alexander the last week of the season, so he can perform well against big teams. I haven't heard anything about this Lydonville kid yet.

nice job summing it up.
i forgot about seward. he does have the potential to be very good, especially with the offensive support he's going to get.
i don't know much about steadman, but i usually don't get to see kendall play. and my picking the lyndonville kid fifth was just looking for a fifth guy. i like mancuso, but i'm not sure how good he's going to be. i remember he has some good junk, but i remember his fastball not being very good at all. i wish i could remember the lyndonville kids name. i heard about him in a conversation i had back during football season.
