I think Marion, Lyons, and ER could all do well in their brackets. I could see Lyons winning C2. In C1 the 4-9 seeds all have the exact same record so it'll be interesting!

I think Marion could have trouble with Bloomfield assuming they both get there, then having to play Mynderse, it will be a long road for them. Lyons has a nice bracket set up for them. I am biased but all the West teams are on the other side. Perry may be difficult. This is going to be a really good tourney for both C1 and C2. I feel Mynderse is not going to lose to Marion or ER in C1. Dundee, SS, Lyons and Perry are all good, with a lot of mid level ranked teams that are dangerous.

I like ER to get to the semis but I dont see them beating Mynderse.

I see Marion with a very tough second round game but they will win it at home and get to the finals. They could beat mynderse if they played a perfect game, LaFevre would have to be a monster and they would have to play well.

I think Lyons has the best shot based on there bracket. A lot depends on play of Lyons big guys.

Clyde could get hot but they have a tough road aheah with no home game then going up to play south seneca.

If NRW was in the top half of the bracket maybe but they just arent going to beat finney. Sodus is a scary team for wellsville if they win and dont self destruct.

i look over and over at the brackets, i really can't say i see a WC team winning sectionals. WC chokes quite often when it comes to sectional time. The team i think has the best shot, though, is probably Clyde. if they can come out of South Seneca with a win, which they could, they beat them by 20+ during the year plus i like their match-ups against them, they could get into the finals, winning it, well that's another story
In C1 it is just so hard to say i like a WC team because you have Mynderse, Avon, and Bloomfield, all are tough teams.
I can't say i like Lyons altho their road is probably set up the best of any other team in WC, just for the simple fact that they won't be at home all throughout sectionals. lol. they struggle big time on the road and have set to find a grove outside of their home floor. IF they make it out of the second round, it may be trouble for them.

first Round C1 I think all the top seeds will advance.
The two toughest games I see are Letchworth/Avon edge to Ledgeworth and Campbell-Sovana/Grananda CS is always tough.

I think the final four will be Mynderse - ER and Marion - Bloomfield
The Marion - Bloomfield will be the game to watch.

Clyde?? Really? No doubt they have some talent but they are worse on the road than Lyons is and they have a nightmare bracket. No home game first rd, at SS (Im pretty sure Alsheimer or however you spell it) didnt play vs Clyde the first game of the year. Then if they win most likely Dundee who beat Marion.

I hope they do make a run, I think they are probably first or second most talented team when they come to play.

B2 - Small bracket. Only 10 teams. North-Rose and Sodus should win their play-in games. North-Rose has the size to give Finney some trouble. If they shoot exceptional well, something crazy might happen....although not likely.
Wellsville doesn't have a lot of size so Sodus might be able to stay with them for awhile. If they can keep it within single digits going into the 4th quarter, anything can happen

C1 - Looks like Mynderse will roll at least into the semis. ER lost their last two games and Cal-Mum beat Letchworth by 30 in their last game. Both should win their first games with Cal-Mum beating ER in the second round.

Bottom half of the bracket could be very interesting. I think Avon beats Letchworth (did so twice during the season) and it's not a stretch to say they can beat Marion in the second round. If Red Creek's Stevenson and Dates can control Bloomfield's Rayburn, it could be the upset of the Sectionals. Gananda should beat Campbell-Savona. From there, who knows! In any event, this is a very tough bracket for the #2 (Marion) and #3seed (Bloomfield).

C2 - I think Red Jacket wins its first game and the gives Dundee all they can handle in the second round. They lost to Dundee in an away season game by only three points. If this happens, it opens the door for Clyde. I like their chances in the second round game against South Seneca, based on their convincing win earlier in the season. If they play Red Jacket, they should be able to make it to the finals.

Lyons shouldn't have much problem advancing to the semis but I think Perry or Cuba-Rushford will give them a little trouble. Still, a decent chance of an all Wayne County final.

Yeah, i like the way clyde matches up vs other teams in the top half, i did say though that i don't think they will win it all, i just got my opinion that they could go as far if not the furthest of any WC team.
and Alsheimer didn't play vs clyde the 1st game, it wouldn't of mattered, he's good but when you lose by 20+ one player won't make that great of a difference.
the reason i like them, esp vs S.S. is one simple reason: speed. Clyde is very quick and can get easy buckets vs every team. their problem has been just finishing their gimme's. i see them more focused in sectionals. i think dundee gives them most trouble where they problem lose in the semi's

He always has his kids ready come tournament time. To be honest I think all of our wayne county teams would have had trouble with Cambell. Hate to see Gananda go so early but what can you do.

If you have a wait and see attitude to start the game you will be run over by the time you figuer out whats going on...You have to start with all you have from the tipoff...11 seed beating a 6 seed is technically an upset but in this sectional class the 11th seed up can beat anyone...I don't think thats the end of the upsets for Campbell Savona....

You see C-S beating Bloomfield? I am not sure if I can agree with that. Good team, but Bloomfield is arguably better, IMO. But as we always say, anything's possible...

They have good shooters too and that "one good player" should be 1st team AGR. CS plays an aggressive man to man and is very efficient anticipating and executing switches. This will make it tough for any of the Bloomfield shooters to find easy shots. It all comes down to how well they contain Rayburn.

ER lost to CalMum tonight, I think the score was 45-54. They came out flat in the first half and couldn't get many shots to fall, and it seemed like CalMum couldn't miss a shot for a little while there. In the 2nd half ER showed a lot of fight and brought it to within 2 with about 5 minutes left in the game, but that was as close as they were going to get. CalMum is enormous, I don't know what the heck they are feeding them down there. ER couldn't match up size-wise, but I was proud of the way they played. They never gave up and they played with a lot of heart tonight. They only lose 4 guys this year to graduation, and while those 4 were all pretty good players, I am excited to see what this team will do next year!

It's funny because virtually every year on this board people have said, "Wayne County is down this year" - and this year, when that's apparently actually true, no one's been saying it. Lol.

Anyway, I like WC's chances for next year. A lot of our teams return a LOT of young talent, so I think we'll have a much better run in the 2010-2011 season!

i definitely don't think we're "down" this year. i think we're better this year than last year actually. We ran into a lot of tough opponents in sectionals...It's all about match-ups

Went to the ER and cal mum game it was a great game towards the end. Justin dezio and Nick Nadeau kept ER close. Nadeau had a great and 1 and justin hit a few threes and dave altman too. Cal mum pulled away and they deserved it, they were ALOT bigger too. I personally thought the refs were terrible. Justin dezio and Nick Nadeau will be great together next year.

I also thought the refs were terrible, but I always hate saying that because then people assume that you're just bitter about the loss. lol.

Dave Altman has become sort of a 3-point specialist for ER. Dezio and Nadeau are both just really good players. ER returns the majority of their team next year - Dezio, Nadeau, Altman, Michele, Boyer, Bates, and Yaeger - plus they will probably pull up Herb, Pascazi, and a few others from their undefeated JV team for next year - so they are looking really solid for next season. I know a lot of teams are in a similar boat, with a lot of young talent, too, so the future for Wayne County basketball is looking pretty good.

If NYS insists on an 18 game schedule it would be nice to see Wayne county have a cross-over with Livingston County next year.

I agree...The Wayne league needs to play some teams from that league...Its a good league....Marion use to have a tournament down in Cal Mum to start the year and it really helped but they eliminated it this year.....Time to bring it back...

THey have a very good chance, Perry relies more on the 3 ball which is harder to make at the blue cross. I would give Perry a decent shot in this game based on the fact that Livingston has beat up on Wayne county this year in sectionals as previously posted.

I think Clyde wins but its not a blow out.
