I think Elba has a great chance of winning DD, as they are the obvious favorite. But the question I pose is: if they are fortunate to win DD, then the D qualifier, is Pine Valley a Class D team this year? If so, how does Elba matchup with Pine Valley?

I think Elba is just about a lock to win DD & the overall D title in Section V. Yes Pine Valley is a D school this year but is in a rebuilding stage they're the #4 seed in Section 6 with a Record of 7-12 they've won 4 of their last 6 but is still real young. Sherman is the #1 seed in Section 6 class D with a record of 18-2. I don't see Elba getting a challenge until the Final Four and even then I think they've got a real good shot at an undefeated state championship season.

Thanks UNC, I share the same sediments as you, but I didn't want to make any predictions without knowing the Section 6 teams.

yes, elba is a very good team and should win dd, but i would not be shocked if somebody were to shock them at some point. last year's team was stronger than this one, with a ton of experience and depth. elba has some young players and come playoff time, anything can happen. i will say that marci jonathan is a great player and should come up huge in this tournament.
