Who ended up getting the job? I know our former coach was applying but have not talked with him in a while.

An official announcement has not been made, that should come relatively soon.

Talked with our former football coach (Mcgory) Friday night when he was supervising a b-ball game at CA. He said he did not get the job and was disappointed. He also told me who got the job and he was fine with that. He resigned the next day but told me he did that to let the new coach start with a fresh staff. Then I guess he decided to not resign as he really wanted to coach at MW. But here is the kicker... He was not asked to return as the defensive coordinator. Here is a guy with 17 years experience coaching football (8 seasons at CA) and was not asked to come back? MW, what a joke. Your loss. I hope someone picks him up. He is a great coach and motivates kids to achieve.

....not uncommon at all for a new coach to want his own staff, especially if current staff wanted the job that he got, which can sometimes result in chemistry problems.

Coach Silco was named the new coach at Whitman. He has been on the staff the past few years in various roles, running the JV this past season. The kids are excited about the hire and Coach Silco will do a great job.
