any idea who top players are?

devon davis is averaging 25.5 a contest with 7 boards, but he's 5' 8" and jaquan herring is averaging 17.6 a game with 7 boards and 5 dimes and is 5' 9", najee washington is averaging 12 a game, and the top rebounder is nate irvin with 8 a game

you think fairport has a good chance to win?

well, max brown would eat a 5' 8" player for a light afternoon snack, so yes. franklin is pretty small compared to fairport. franklin's biggest player is 6' 2".

wow! with Pries and Brown no doubt they will dominate the boards and post, even some of their smaller players are bigger than that

there's no doubt franklin can score, but most of the teams they've played have been pretty similar in size. once you give them some big guys down low, i think franklin will start having problems.

depending on the type of game, if it's a blowout fitch will play guys who dont play as much taking them away, but if he keeps starters in i think he's going a 20 20 game and a double double out of 2 or 3 other fairport players

if it gets too out of hand, i think fitch will call off the dogs. he doesn't seem like a coach that would run up the score.

Eastridge

Eastridge is going to cause a lot of problems for a few teams. They're playing pretty well this year, and I think they have a chance at making a run. And they also have the player with the best name in Section V, Supreme Hannah.

no other team has a player that can compete with chinoso.

For a team to be able to hang with BK they must have:
1. A guard who can get in the lane, get Chinoso off his feet, and dish to the open man
2. Outside, lights out shooters

Chinoso takes away everything else in the paint. Plays like his fellow countryman Hakeem on Defense.

I do think that A-1 will come down to Arcadia vs BK and that will be a great game. Section V should prey hard that BK and AQ make it to the A-1 vs A-2 matchup. If you attended either matchup this year you know what I am talking about as far as atmosphere, rivalry and level of play. Roberts Weslyan will not hold the crowds coming to this game! Too bad Section V doesn't have the sense to realize that there are a lot of very athletic college-level players on the court when these teams square off and should be a 3-man referee crew.

agree 100%. But im not so convinced that its a two dog race. Mendon is not as good as those teams yet but as an old player at mendon copeland (the coach) somehow gets his team ready to play come playoff time. If you would like me to prove it i will in a later post. anyway....

Mendon had BK really close in the 4th qtr i believe until BK drove away with the Win. Just watchout out for Mendon....

1. BK
1b Arcadia
2. Mendon
3. No salvia no chance unless their guards shoot lights out and kazka dominates in which he can the rest of the games.

I agree Mendon is pretty good. The D'Amico kid can play and is a real nice shooter! However the score in the BK game like when they beat Penfield not what you think. BK was up 15 in the 4th and subbed out starters pretty early- Mendon did not and their starters grabbed some garbage buckets to make game closer than it really was. Don't get me wrong they can play but I still feel it is Arcadia and BK's division to lose. Then again...that is why they play the games!

Mendon Coach is very good and a class act though. Really like his style.

Looks like St Mary's will move to the top spot on Monday with AQ grabbing #2. How does BK not get a higher ranking? They have 3 losses and they came to the #1 team in Elmira and the #2 team twice locally. I would think they would at least grab a top 10 placement in State rankings. They have beaten all other A and AA teams they have played.

Either way we have some really sick basketball right here in Section V and it is fun to watch!!!

like someone else said BK was up by a lot then subbed and Mendon left in there starters and made the game look closer. also Chinonso had the flu that day and barely played. he didnt start the game and only played about 12-15mins if that. usually hes in about 24 mins a game. but mendon is not a bad team

Sutherland has no chance without Salvia, I have only heard about BK what style do they play? I like GAs balance, Klimek is a winner. Mendons Boler is a key kind of in a funk weeks ago but starting to really play, also success depends on how much Mico gets away with.

IMO, this the best of the semi's out there. Anyone can win this thing. I thought a month ago BK was a lock and I still think they will win but nothing will surprise me. No disrespect to any other brackets.

BK looks like the best team but I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose. They're not so impressive offensively.

Boon is an excellent coach but BK doesn't play very smart basketball. It seems that the gameplan is to play pressure D, wear teams down with their athleticism, and press fullcourt in the 4th quarter. It works most of the time but it's not foolproof.

The halfcourt D breaks down a lot because the pressure on the perimeter is undisciplined. Guys get beat off the dribble because they are overplaying and the team ends up scrambling. The problem is that the pressure doesn't force many turnovers. All they're getting out of it is wearing the opponent down physically over the course of the game. They'd be a lot better off just staying in front of their man instead of constantly going for (and not getting) the steal.

Offensively, the unforced turnovers are hard to stomach.

That said, Obokoh makes up for a lot of the team's flaws. I feel sorry for that kid... he takes a beating every game and the refs just let it go. It's like when Shaq was in college getting hacked mercilessly but getting no calls because he was so much bigger than everyone. Obokoh draws about 10 fouls a game but it could easily be 20.
