ER had some starting line up out for that game. God know how it would of been if they were in.

Williamson is a better team than Marion, Marion was lucky to get out of the first game with a win in OT off a PK i heard. Marion also beat ER 1-0 in a game they should have lost as well. Don't be fooled by the #1 in the state rank, Marion is good, no questions, but very beatable. As far as the ER RC score, ER played terribly and RC played very well actually, probably the best ive seen them play in a very long time. They played their field well, very long grass, muddy and very bumpy, not exactly ER's forte. Take away ER's speed with the ball, and a very beatable team stands before you. Should ER have won? Yes, but they cannot finish. Did Red Creek out possess ER? No, not until they scored then ER just shut down, heard a lot of arguing among the players. The second goal came late and ER had given up by then. Don't be surprised if RC sneaks into sectionals as a bottom seed and knock off a big team like Bergen or Holley or Bloomfield especially if they played like they did tonight.

Marions Number 1 state ranking?...Thats based on past history...An undefeated team last year from our league would have been legit top 3

Reuben is the best player I have watched this year and Macintosh is a close second...Williamsons defense played 10 times better than the first game...The goalie in the first game let 2 real easy goals in...I believe he isn't the goalie anymore....Williamson defense is BIG and played much better last night...They have a huge size advantage and it was easy for them to push Marions attackers off the ball...
Marions defense was the opposite...Goalie let in a long shot he should have stopped....Williamsons Rueben or Macintosh (can't remember which one) went through them like he was Eli Vitale for the first goal...Whos best after last night?....I couldn't say but I will say this....Finger Lakes teams have a much better shot at sectionals this year....

Marion could be the best team if they would play together...The overall talent on the team is tops in the league....Not many weaknesses anywhere but they need to keep there heads together when they get down and be patient...Boot ball up the middle is a panic response and they started panicking when they were down...The goalie throwing a temper tantrum and yelling at everybody?...Real bad...That will not help anything....

I would move Beltrone up on offense....Hes a great stopper but he is also the fastest kid on the field....No one can hang with him full speed...

Fridays Marion - ER game could set up that three way tie....I predict Marion gets ER though...Sorry Wayne C Alum....

and a cheap shot on Marquez near the end of the game which resulted in a card for the Marion player shows how they were resorting to "thug ball" as I have heard it described...

Marion did get lucky to win the first meeting of these teams back at the beginning of the season, but it was not off a PK. They won in overtime on a quick transition free kick after a williamson player was called offside.

....

What excalty do you mean by this ? Besides NRW which is a B all the wayne county teams are class C... what finger lakes teams in C are you thinking have a much better shot ?

In the C the Finger lakes teams would be - Honeyoe, Naples, south seneca and HAC.. marion very well might not win this class but I dont think any of these Finger lakes teams have too much of a chance.

in the CC finger lakes teams would be - Bloomfield I know they are #2 currently but out of an easy FLW league I dont see them getting by Holley, Byron Bergen, ER ( unless they are missing players) or Williamson...

I think this year wayne county league teams won't dominate...Thats my opinion.....I don't see the stand alone players from the past....Teams have talent but that stand alone player who will just carve up any team who hasn't played them?....The Rueben kid from Williamson maybe?...When you come up against a Vitale for the first time....Thats not easy to stop...And playing against kids like that every week makes your team better...Thats missing this year....Could be way off but we will see soon...

I dont disagree that overall wayne county teams are not as strong as last years top 2... but they were way above all other class C teams. This year the classes are much more even, I was just stating I don't see a FINGER Lakes team that has a legit shot over a wayne county team in the Class C's [which is what you originally commented about]

I can see Bloomfield getting by BB or Holley. There toughest competion will be from ER or Williamson.

You could be right...Past history is on your side....I don't think its going to be a walk in the park like it has been....we shall see soon....

by the way it was Macintosh who walked thru everyone...Twice...He maybe the best...

ER has played HAC, Honeoye and Naples. They dominated play in all three games and had the problem they have still, they cant finish golden opportunities. Marion has beaten ER, not handily but they did. I dont see any of those teams beating Marion, maybe if Delyser, Beltrone and Cahill get hurt, yea but not a healthy Marion. Bloomfield, ehhhh no. Won't beat Williamson, period. They COULD get by Holley or Bergen, I don't see them beating ER or Red Creek for that matter. Wayne teams are down, yes but not down enough to lose to a finger lakes team in sectionals.

If ER plays like they did against Red Creek, Marion will dominate the game. If ER comes out like they did against Williamson, Marion could drop two straight. I'll keep my prediction of 2-1 ER, and the way ER has been playing, its a bold prediction.

Marion does not play "thug ball". That was just a young 10th grader who came in a bit late on a tackle. Yea, he hit him pretty good, but I don't think the Marion player has a history of doing that.

Marion wins more sportsmanship awards than any team in the league..

Yes ER played HAC,Honeoye and Naples. But i wouldn't say the dominated. I saw the Naples and Honeoye Games. Naples and ER came away with a tie. Time of posseion was about 60-40 ER but naples just kicked everything over the end lines to give ER corner kicks. Honeoye and ER that game was about 55-45 ER. ER got a goal of a corner kick that the honeoye defense slept through. I can see Bloomfield squiking by ER. It would be Williamson that will be the team that will be a problem.

i agree, he just thinks a little too highly of wayne county. is wayne county good, yes. are they that good, no. starting giving other leagues a little credit. the tops of most leagues can play with most of the wayne league. wayne just dosen't have the weak teams in their league where most other leagues have a couple of nonfactor teams.

Can they? Sure, but i just speak from what traditionally goes down in sectionals. You can say i think too highly of Wayne, first off this is a WAYNE COUNTY forum so why why shouldn't I? I think the county has proven itself time and again every single year. Do they sometimes drop games in sectionals? Sure, nobody is perfect, but come sectional time it is the Wayne teams people do not want to play. Two Wayne teams will come out again this year with sectional patches. Make the argument that Geneseo is too good for Marion, it was made last season, Marion made them look like a JV team. CC has ER and Williamson and don't count Red Creek out, ever. Now, can these teams all lose? Of course, they're all beatable, but I just don't see it happening.

Class C is Wayne county's domain. 6 out of the 7 teams in the league are in class C and usually do very well until they face another Wayne team. the past 10 years a Wayne team has taken a block home in either C or CC and a few of those years they swept the class. They are not the godsend no, but class C has been dominated by Wayne county for a very long time.
