I expect Elba to win tonight, but can anyone give me a report on Romulus?
I'll be at the game tonight and I expect a pretty good game. I'd like to think Elba will win by double-digits, but if someone tells me differently I'd like to hear it.

I was wondering all year how a team with 6 losses was so highly ranked in the stat but after looking closer I see that none were to bad teams. Bloomfield twice, South Seneca twice, Mynderse and Marion. I don't know that much about Romulus but I would agree that Elba should win by about 15. If they have a bad night though it could be interesting.

What Elba should capitalize on is Marci Jonathon. So far, no one has really been able to stop her. If she doesn't score, she rebounds/passes. Romulus will struggle with her, let's just see how Elba's guard play.
But you are right - Romulus had a strong schedule and will be give Elba a good game tonight.

Listening to the game:
Elba's struggling. To this point, they haven't demonstrated that they have any outside scoring threat and no serious ball handlers who can help break the press.
To echo previous comments: Jonathan. She's the difference in the 2nd half.
And a commitment to defense:The continued faith in Nowak's philosophy is paying off.
No rebounding help from the guards isn't helping Elba, though.

missed the game because i had a million other things to work on, but listened on the radio. sounds like missed foul shots cost elba in this one.
the lancers were not expected to be this good because of all the graduations last year and it was a great run. nowak did a great job coaching and marci jonathan proved that she is one of the top girls players to come out of the area in a while.
great season, tough loss.

Was at the game tonight. Missed FT's as Hilly pointed out along with unforced turnovers and the inability to convert on the numerous turnovers Romulus had is what did Elba in. Elba went on a 6-0 run to end the 3rd, leading 26-23 and then didn't score until under 3 min to go in the 4th.
Disappointing way to end the season for Elba, but congrats to Romulus.

I'm surprised by this but as young as Elba is it's probably a "Good loss" for the younger kids, Elba had a great year.
Section5fan did you watch the J-T/Hammondsport game? curious if you think J-T can stick with Romulus?

That game was a quick one, so I was only able to see most of the 4th quarter.
From what I saw, I think JT will win. I love their style of play defensively. I mentioned that Elba forced many turnovers from their fullcourt pressure, but was unable to capitalize. I see JT doing the same, but this time capitalizing on Romulus' weak guard play in the backcourt.
I can't comment on how JT's guards can handle the fullcourt pressure however. Romulus played a 1-2-2 fullcourt press for the majority of the game vs. Elba, which took them out of their rythym offensively. If JT has guards who can pass and handle pressure, then JT should win.

Notre Dame won the Sectional Title for class C last night.. Funny how moving them up to the C class didn't matter. I guess Elba found out that there are other teams around to knock them out of the sectionals other than ND.

class c is weaker than dd, in fairness to elba. it should be interesting to see what nd does with the bigger schools.

Rumor has it that Elba's coach was involved in getting ND moved up in class so he had what he thought was a easy ride to a Sectional Title. If that's the case, I guess he thought wrong.
