because of my superstitious nature I didn't want to say a word till the end of the year but wanted to toss a hat in the ring for one of the best 3 sport athletes in ALL of section V. Throw some other names out there that can rival what this young lady has done.

Grant Heyman. 3 sport stud. AGR in football. MC division 3 2nd leading scorer in basketball. Most likely AGR in baseball this year and has a possibility of getting drafted. Best 3 sport athlete in section 5 hands down.
Swetman from HFL is solid as well.

We actually did a thread on this a few years back. Voted for best all around athlete in the area. I'm sure there are others out there.

No offense to the young but not only haven't I heard of him I have no idea what school he goes to.
Dominic Scavo-Hornell, All-State in 3 sports, NYS Player of the year in Football, All State Basketball player and will likely be an All State Baseball player when the list comes out.

you small school guys need to get out more. Grant Heyman is from Pittsford Sutherland (or just Pittsford for football, as in their QB.) As for me, I DO know who Scavo is (even though I follow mostly large schools), and where he is going to school next year. I can say I didn't know he played baseball, but I guess Hornell doesn't have a lax team? That's a damn shame, haha.

You don't know him? Well he just got drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays. Oh and he's better than Sacvo at quarterback hahaha

Yes I know I should know him, some reason I didn't though.... Maybe we need MORE Talk on here for Baseball season!! It's sad that we don't have more talk on here for Spring Sports.

I was encouraged by the number of posters for Girls lacrosse this year. Softball discussion seemed to be up too.

I hope it keeps up, it's been very frustrating for me since we started this site in 2007. I talked to DrewVT earlier this week about this very topic. He thinks and I agree with him that one of the main reasons this site is so popular in the Fall & Winter is because Football, Soccer & Basketball are spectator sports where Softball, Baseball & Lacrosse aren't really. We are so busy on here in the Fall & Winter that I had always hoped that eventually spring would be just as popular, so far It's not even close.

In addition to your above mentioned facts, here are a few more.
We only have about 3 weeks a year of good weather in this neck of the woods. People are more apt to spend time outside entertaining themselves with festivals, concerts, etc than to go to a high school sporting event. Unless you are a parent of a participant, you aren't going to go.
Basketball and football are just more popular. In high scholl, lacrosse is a fringe sport, (con't shoot the messenger EXLAXER, just being factual) baseball is pretty boring, same with softball and field hockey.
Another thing, love it or hate it, controversy causes interest. Everybody on this forum thinks they are a basketball or football official. They all think they know a good call from a bad call. Truth be, they are all morons.......only the trained officials should be allowed to even comment on rules, calls and the like. Officials don't bother you on your paper routes do they?
