National Scouting Report will hold a baseball showcase in conjunction with the National Baseball Showcase Series. The showcase is scheduled for 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Dugan Yard, St. John Fisher College, Rochester, NY. Professional scouts will rate all players with the top players receiving invitations to advance to a regional, then national showcase. A college recruiting session will follow at 6:00 PM. Baseball Showcase

This year’s Western New York High School baseball Showcase will be held on Saturday, June 21 at SUNY Brockport. The showcase is geared toward current sophomore and junior baseball players and will be run like a professional tryout.

Players will be timed running sprints and will field, hit and throw in front of approximately 20 college and pro scouts from the area. It is an invitation only showcase but invitations are given on coaches recommendations.

The cost for the day-long tryout is $75. All questions can be directed to Ory Mee at (585) 704-4744.

Monroe Community College is offering a Summer Sports Camp. Five 1-week sessions starting June 28th - July 30th 9:00am-3:30pm M-F


Baseball

Ages 6-8, 9-10, 11-12

Coach: Mike Kelly
Mike Kelly enters his third season as head coach for the MCC Tribunes. Kelly, an assistant from 1999-2007, led MCC to a school-record 41 wins in 2008 and an unprecedented third-place finish at the NJCAA Division II World Series.
Kelly has worked with pitchers and catchers during his time as an assistant with MCC. He has also served as the third-base coach the past two seasons. He was a head coach in the New York Collegiate Baseball League for three years.
Coach Kelly is also the head Athletic Academic Advisor at MCC

MCC baseball to hold Prospect Camp

ROCHESTER - The MCC baseball program will hold a Prospect Camp on Oct. 10, 2010.

The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will cost $75 per player. The objective is to provide the athletes with exposure to NCAA Division I, II, III and Junior College coaches.

Players will be evaluated on running speed, arm strength, fielding ability, hitting and pitching. The camp also includes a talk with MCC Athletic Director and former Tribune baseball coach Skip Bailey.

The camp, which is for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors, will be held on MCC's baseball field. In case of rain, it will be moved to the PAC center.
