Hornell loses Canty, Hammond, Argenteri, and Pelch from this year's outstanding team. They have some solid players coming back next season.
( Smith, Binder, and others ) They play a very physical style of play and have tremendous team speed. ( especially at home on the turf ) These underclassmen now have the experience of going deep into the playoffs which will be an advantage against some other teams, come playoff time. Livonia loses their two studs, Galen Walsh and Jason Butterbrodt. I'm not sure if they will challenge for the sectional title this year ? Hornell's biggest challenge, I believe, will come from Bath/Haverling. Bath loses their foreign exchange student who did a nice job controlling the center mid-field area, as well as their All League goalie, Travis Feree. However, Bath started three freshmen last season, 2 sophomores, and have many senior players returning. Luca Wales was moved to stopper last season to provide a much needed boost after leading the Rams in scoring in 2005. You probably will see him at middie this season and back to his old tricks of putting the ball into the goal. Freshmen Justin Sherwood, John Smith, & Dylan Wales and sophomores Sam Robbins & Jason Carpenter, now have one, full, varsity, season under their belts. They have the speed to match up with Hornell and maybe more this season. Mike Rossi will fill the void left by the departure of Feree in goal after helping to lead the JV's, last season, to 10 wins.
Should be an interesting challenge. The Hornell vs. Bath rivalry has become a fixture in all sports in the last 5-10 years.

Hornell will be very strong coming back... I agree livonia wont return much but bath will still be too small and not athletic enough for hornell

is that Bath cannot compete with Hornell ? Hornell has no competition in BB next year ? or both ? Size is a consideration but a minor one, in my opinion. Smith and Binder are very athletic, but not big. Bath will have tremendous, team, speed, next season and (after giving Hornell all they could handle in sectionals this past season in a 1-0 loss ) will test Hornell. This rivalry is a fun one to watch and should be interesting, once again.

Trying to follow your logic here. Let me give you an analogy. Bath outscored Hornell last season ( 2 reg. season games and sectionals ) in baseball, 14-7. So Bath should find the same success ( wins ) this year in that sport regardless of a change in personnel ?? Do graduating seniors like Canty ( ALL State ) & Pelch ( 13 goals and 14 assists ) make any difference in the match ups next season ? I think they will be very spirited contests and should be very close games.
