it doesn't matter if they're flat out aweful. it's quite the accomplishment to score 100 points in a high school basketball game.

even if pavillion is horrible scoring 100 points in a game is crazy...does anybody know is pavilion really bad or is ND just that good??? THe one kid from ND almost had a quadruple double...thats unbelievable....

they're certainly off to a great start beating Prattsburgh and then in game #2 scoring 100, they're likely to get even better when they get 8 or 9 games under their belt. Definately impressing some people including me.........

100 Points? That is an amazing feat. With only eight minute quarters. They were averaging over 3 points a minute.

Who was the high scorer?

UNCTarheels
12-06-2007, 02:26 PM
Kevin Francis had 26 points, 10 Steals, 9 Assists, and 8 Rebounds, scoring 18 points in the 3rd quarter alone. Christian Bochichio had 19 points & 11 boards. no other player reached double digits but 10 other players scored with two (Greg Barr & Mark Fanton) scoring 8 points a piece.

ND more than doubled pavilions score. if pavilion 1.5 times their points, ND would still have won easily. i just don't see the class in a catholic school running up the score just to get 100.... now if they weren't playing their starters in the second half, i can understand it. but there is no reason to blow out a team at the high school level

Ehh I have to disagree on this one. I know if I were playing or coaching and my team had a chance to score a hundred, I might do everything it took. Maybe this isn't the classy way but scoring 100 pts is something those kids will never forget. Although its horrible for Pavilion, it's great for ND.

yeah i agree, there has got to be nothing more exhillerating than scoring 100 points, but i just feel that notre dame is held to a differant standard. they are supposed to be the standard of exellance when it comes to class and honor. i'm not saying that they are not a classy team, but i feel that they shouldn't need to have a new england patriots way of winning

i talked to Bo today. he didnt even play in the fourth quarter. i dont believe kevin francis played much in it either. so the running up of the score came from the second and third stringers of notre dame

alright. thats what i was wondering too. if they left the starters in or not. it make more since that way

In a game like this one you have to keep in mind that Pavilion probably wouldn't leave their starters in either and that probably contributed to it further.

Its true. Kevin was out almost all of the second quarter with foul trouble, and he and bo were out the entire 4th quarter. Everyone on ND played well and the entire team scored. Coach Rapone didn't run the score up, or at least it wasn't his intention. And no, Pavilion left their starters in the whole game. They only have 9 players too.

yep yep thats how it happened...i kind of felt the same thing boobie did, but with me and kevinb, as well as the rest of our starters out much of the second and all of the fourth, you cant tell kids who rarely play not to go in there and try hard.

SecVBallin

Well said Bo haha. I felt bad for pavilion, but you can't go in and just stand there and let a team that is losing score. If kids get good playing time, they're going to play hard.

yeah. i understand now, i was just at first under the impression that the starters were in for the whole game

It is easy to look at the score and think that wow, thats really disrespectful to run up the score. Coach Rapone is a classy guy. He wouldn't run up the score on purpose. Especially after he saw Tom Nowak from Elba run up a score by about 50 points in a girls game against ND in the mid 90's.

This was the first thread ever flamed.

I am proud to see the missing pieces of conversation here.

It was a discussion between myself and BravesRTops about the "GR allstar team" playing a pickup game. We then talked about Pete Call's superpowers
