After hearing about Alexanders new weight room, i was wondering what everybody thought about their school's, or any other school's weight room.

i choose the football thread because i feel thats the sport that uses the weight room the most of the time.(is that ok in the posting guidelines. because the word football really isn't brought up so i was hoping we could bend the rules a little)

Good question, my alma mater Avoca doesn't even have a Weight room, we're actually in the middle of a Big Building Project getting a New Gym but I don't believe A Weight room is in the future. Even though are Wrestling Program would really like one.

Who else doesn't have a weight room?

Never seen it but when Waterloo did there big capital project, they put in a great weight room Rumor has it Tom Coughlin wrote a LARGE check for it. I dont know if thats true or not. But he did graduate from Waterloo, and the field is named after him.

You should see the one under our football stands. Its actually a great football weight room. It has everything football players need to get stronger.

And the one at our school is excellent for anyone of any age. It has everything.

oakfield's isn't anything special, but it has everything that you could ask for in it.

Machines are good for keeping your strength rising at a steady pace. If you have a good mix of machines and free weights, you will get stronger than you would by just lifting with either or.

ours is a closet with weights that i'm pretty sure were put in when the school first opened...it sucks...but to be honest i like that atmosphere...when you're in there, you're there to do work...i too like the free weights a lot better, and i'm just more focused in ours

True that bo. Its a homely environment with a 1940's scent and a stitched up medicine ball. And Coach Dave Sabato ridin you about everything so you get it right.

I stopped by AQ on Wed and they are building an indoor facility that's gonna have 3 basketball courts, an indoor track and a 4500 square foot weight room. Ridiculous. That place is turning into a college. I understand why they have to keep adding all kinds of perks though because that neighborhood gets worse every day, they need to give the people from the suburbs enough reason besides just the education to send their children down there... so I feel it's kind of a "gift hiding the curse" type of situation
