As we know, some leagues play in the spring while other leagues play in the fall. I was just wondering how other people felt about which season they would rather play in because in Monroe County there are talks of moving it back to the fall.
My thoughts are that for someone like myself, I definitely prefer the spring season. The reason for this is by the time September rolls around, the last thing I want to do is prepare for the golf season. The summer for many of the better players in Section V is spent traveling around the east coast and the country playing in national junior events. This means that we are ready to take a break and get ready for the offseason. The spring is perfect because it is a great way to kick off the busy summer tournament schedule and get back into the grind that is golf.
The arguments for a fall season are obvious: better weather, the players are on top of their game, courses are more willing to host matches and tournaments...
If Monroe County were to move back to the fall, this would only be following a change of the NYS High School Championship at Cornell to the fall, so don't freak out just yet.
