Fillmore girls are undefeated 7-0 I think. They defeated Whitesville in double overtime last week in the Houghton Classic. Whitesville was without freshman guard Stephany Ellison

I certainly know that being undefeated doesn't mean anything come sectional time.... anything can happen in sectionals. I was just curious about the winning streaks.

Those undefeated records put a great deal of pressure on kids too, they wear the target on their backs, and everyyone is up for a game with them because they want to be the team to break the streak. That's why as a coach I don't mind having a loss here or there -- sure its hard to take, but it relieves the kids of some of the pressure of perfection.

JT 43 BR46
JT had a difficult night. They only shot 29% of 3's, 46% from the line, and 31% of 2's. It was a high pressure, very physical game, and with everyone not 100% healthy - it was a tough night. B-R plays a very patient and disicplined offense. They broke the press well. They are a very physical team, something that JT had not seen before. I hate to say it, but the officiating was not top notch, and the JT girls were knocked around much more than they are used to. I'm not saying that the officials had anything to do with their loss, JT should have made a few more foul shots or layups, and that would have made the difference, but, games need to be kept under control. Both teams were frustrated by fouls not being called on both ends.
Positives for JT - The girls made a lot of steals and forced turnovers when they gave BR full court pressure.... Nakisha made some great plays under the basket...they run a nice fast break....
It was an intense game right from the tip-off.....the teams meet again in BR on the 31st at BR. SHould be a good one.

well mom the better get use to the ruff play that it is sectionals is all about especially when laying elba, romulos and norter dame. sounds like you need the krause girl playing ruff like see did in soccer. the press is great but rember you need to score most of the time to set up a good press. what defense did br play i bet it was some sort of of triangle and 2. thats what i would play against jt dont let your daughters beat me

The Avoca girls played an excellent game against J-T we are very proud of them, I understand that Katie Wyant was very sick she still had 15 points apperantely she was also sick against B-R. J-T has not played as well since the christmas break I was able to see both games. They have no real inside presence the Kraus girl plays hard but she might be 5-6 they have done really well to be 10-1 at this point. How are the jv's doing ref 11?

coach we arew10 wins 3 losses so far getting better every game have my leading scorer out for 4 weeks that will make this team better. having a blast so far no scouting calling newspapers just coaching
