Im going to start recruiting for Attica.
Marshall QB Ashton Broyld- Hey how are you Ashton? I hear you've been mulling over whether to go to Marshall or Aquinas. Well i got the perfect solution for you: Attica. Not only would we guarantee you playing time throughout your stay here, you'd also be playing for the 2007 GR coach of the year, Jeff Cusmano. He's working in the spread offense, which would really show off your abilities. Think Attica would hurt your D-1 chances? Not a chance, we had a D-1 athlete recruited this year. Trust me, Attica is the place for you achieve the apex of your potential.
Oakfield Chris Williams OL/DL - How are you today Chris? I know what your thinking, why leave Oakfield? Well the reason is plain and simple: Opportunity. At Attica, we are losing all 5 starting linemen, so you can start anywhere that you'd like. Want to snap the ball? Its all possible at Attica, where your talents will be able to be shown in our wide open offense, and not hidden in the cluddled mess that is Oakfield football.
Bath RB Andre McCLoud - Hello Andre, how have you been? Good, as you probably know Im here to ask you if you would like to join the Attica football team. I guarantee you will start for us, and will be a key cog of the offense as our number one tailback. Attica recognizes your skills, and our Coach firmly believes he can maximize your talents. So how about for the next season you get out of the Bath water and join us here in Attica, the home of champions.
Notre Dame K Matt Thompson - Hello Matthew, I am here representing the fine institution of Attica. The things that most players desire are opportunity and security, and here at Attica we offer you both. I guarantee you the Kicker and Punter positions, and you will get to kick for the defending Co-GR champions. Plus, school here is a lot cheaper!!!
Pembroke Defensive players Ken Babcock and Graham Jensen - Hello boys, Ive watched your film and seen you play in person, and I truly believe you can make a difference at Attica. Not only will you two start both ways, you can have a chance to play for the winning team. Plus the girls here at Attica are a bit of an upgrade ;).

Yes. Some Attica recruiters were seen recently at a huge PA wrestling tournament handing out business cards and offering kids free cars, housing, spending cash, etc

Man, you've got us! We played our hearts out in those games...
Oh wait, we were learning the alphabet.
It bugs me when people take pride in others accomplishments. For example, this is kind of going against my own school here but our football team lost to Alexander twice in three years (2004, 2006) and we had kids on the team bringing up the past 30 years. I had a conversation that season with RJ Hale and he made some good points saying the past thirty years meant nothing to those kids. What mattered to them is that while they were on the team, they won two times out of three.
Unless you played in one of those games (and for all I know you could have), you have no business bringing it up.

It definitely would have been a fun game to watch. Depends on when they played during the season. If it was in the beginning or middle, Cal-Mum would have a shot, at the end, it would have been Attica because of the tear they went on and the fact that Cal-Mum had just been torn up by LeRoy and Bath, and had picked up a few key injuries.

D1 - New Hampshire I believe.
The 78-0 game was on sportscenter the next day, a few years later they mentioned it again. Something like "Attica football is celebrating as (whoever) just broke the NYS record for largest shutout".
1996 is the only game I remember CM vs. Attica. Week after dominating Alexander I think one lineman played the same position vs.CM as they had to switch around everything because of injures. Three of them were out, the quarterback from the year before was playing tackle, the tight end weighed 120 pounds - the backfield out weighed the line by far, they went through three quarterbacks that season, after week one it was a mess. They had to bring up JV kids just to have enough players in uniform to be able to play the game. I think the CM game was when the starting RT collapsed on the field with a blood clot in his brain (not 100% sure though) and he was not the first/last to be carted off, with three from Attica (blood clot in brain, broken ribs, something else) and the "stud" RB/LB from CM was carted off, still remember him screaming. He returned next quarter after the quick ambulance ride though.
I would really hope a defending state championship team would have no problem beating a team like that back when they struggled just to have enough in uniform to play at times, and it wasnt much different the years before either - thought that '93 teams line was HUGE. They still had a player go to the next level every year from '93-'96 I believe, at least one a year went on to play college, maybe it was three years '94-96.
Cusmano is turning that team around, would have been a great game this year.

Do you think Cal-Mum would have beaten most anybody in section V that year? how good were they ?
anybody - no. By saying anybody you're including A schools and they wouldn't of matched up, probably made for some good games. GR schools then would have gotten crushed (Attica was Livingston Conference, not GR). I think Attica's only wins back then were over GR schools and Livonia. That Division was the toughest around, with two state championship teams and the others were no pushovers, if Attica had gotten into sectionals back then they would have made some noise just because the competition they faced all season - but they always seemed to be #9 in a pool of 8. I know they did fairly decent in pool play but back then it was one pool play game and done, no such thing as a "pool play champion".
Honestly, I thought LeRoy was the best team in that division in '96. You have the Shaunessey brothers Brandon and Dave who both went Division 1. I think there cousin was the LBer then too as a sophomore (?) and he was a great player. You have Pat Ashley who went to play for Georgia Tech (I think it was them) but I heard quit. Cal-Mum I just remember Capatelli - or something like that. No clue how the game went that year, if CM beat LeRoy or vice versa. It's amazing I remembered that useless info I already posted, ha.

I have a question related to Attica Football..
In Attica's gym, they have all their banners, and the one that says GR League Champions and lists all the years they've won.. Has 2008 listed..
Oakfield won the GR in 2008, and Attica got beat by OA, ND and Pembroke.. Any idea about the sign?

Yeah, thats the theory. Although 2007 would make much more sense, the2008 refers to the 07-08 year where Attica beat Pembroke 6-0 to claim a piece of the GR Title. (Although if this were the BCS, Attica wouldve been number one because their loss came earlier in the year.
