Normally JV headlines are a little trite and carry very little weight in the discussion of varsity sports. However, it is noteworthy ( I think ) to mention that the Bath JV Rams are off to a 3-1 start this season. Worth mentioning, because the varsity team has struggled this season and last, losing 24 games in succession. The varsity kids have worked very hard, but the younger players are the first group to come through a youth league bringing with them some much needed stick skills. It is tough for a fledgling program to compete in the GRALL with teams such as McQuaid, Aquinas, & Livonia. Then add Waterloo and Corning West. Yikes !! Tough sledding.
The JV Rams started the season leading McQuaid at half time 5-1. Unfortunately, they ran out of gas and lost 8-6. They then proceeded to beat Waterloo. Pal Mac, & Livonia. In Livonia last night, the junior Rams won 12-2 with Matt Nesbitt ( Gr. 9 ), Nick Rossi ( Gr. 8 ), and Josh Tompkins ( Gr. 10 ) all scoring three goals apiece. Zach Reed ( Gr. 8 ) also scored twice.
The numbers are not high, but the modified tam does sport 26 players. Hopefully the future might brigthen for the Rams in the coming years in Lax.
