A young Bath squad went into Corning West and pounded out a victory by the score of 21-3. West has defeated Elmira Free Academy the night before by a score of 8-2. Bath has three sophomores that start in the infield, one on the mound and two other juniors in the starting line up this evening.

Sophomore Michael Rossi picked up the win going 5 IP and scattering 5 base hits. He struck out 7 West batters and did not walk a hitter. He also helped himself going 3-6 with four runs batted in. Montana Yastremski ( sophomore ) continued his torrid pace by collecting 5 more hits tonite ( he had 4 last night ) and is now hitting .900 ( 9/10 ) over the first two ball games. Montana closed out the last inning again tonite yielding no runs and 1 hit. Brett Havens ( junior ) collected two hits and drove in three runs. Catcher Billy Crowe ( sophomore ) had two hits and Justin Brown ( junior ) had three hits, as well. I lost track of the number of total hits collected by Bath, but it approached 25+. Bath has a good deal of work to do on their defense, however if they are to compete with the stellar teams in the LCAA this season. ( HFL, Livonia, Hornell ) All three runs this evening were unearned runs due to some infield errors. However, they are off to a 2-0 start starting 6underclassmen. The JV's are also 2-0 clobbering West tonite 13-1. With some seasoning and experience they could be very tough over the course of the next 3-5 years.
