JUst looking only Newark and Avon are left undefeated at this point. Newark has a difficult game at Canandaigua coming up. Avon has their county tourney, not sure what kind of games they are going to get in that. I think this points out how difficult this is to do at the Varsity level. You run into very few games where you just blow the other team out. One off night shooting or an injury here or there or any small thing can lead to a loss. It says a lot about those two programs they have made it this far into the season without a loss.

Avon is likely to see Hornell or H-F-L in the LCAA Tourney so they're going to have a real tough time going into sectionals undefeated, however playing a team like Hornell or H-F-L right before sectionals will be a very good thing, if they win they beat a very good larger school and they'll have a ton of confidence but even if they lose they lost to a larger school it'll make them better and the undefeated thing is out of the way.

Good point. It's the old argument that if a win, no matter when or how is better than a loss OR if loss can ever help you more than a win. I tend to side with the latter.
IMO, it's very hard to be an undefeated team in sectionals because it just ups the ante and motivation for the other team to win.
Five or six years ago, Attica was undefeated and was beat by an decent Penn Yan team. There is just a lot of pressure being undefeated and in my mind no doubt has an effect on high school players.

thr reguar season means very little to be undefeated unless you win a section 5 title. i coached an undefetaed team in regular season and the sectionals games are some much harder to win very team wants to give you that first loss and that will make there season. i am not saying losing is good i am saying its very very hard to be undeafetd in sectionals time
