My question is where did you like the Section V Footbal finals at better? I personally loved Fauver. I have been there as a player and on a staff. It just has a great FOOTBALL feel to it. First its a FOOTBALL stadium, that helps. But to come down the ramp and then up onto the field into all the noise was a rush, for players and coaches both. Plus it was cool to see people sitting up on the hill in the end zone watching. Pae-Tec.....well it has the jumbo tron...

St. John Fisher is the best place for the games.
Fauver is old school and Paetec has a really nice field, but Fisher blows them both away. Awesome field, in a nice part of Rochester and GREAT parking.
Fauver has terrible parking and Paetec is in the ghetto.

I know Paetec is in the "Ghetto", and I had never been there till this season's playoffs, but the place is impressive. You have to admit it's a great facility and there's not a bad seat in the house. I LOVE the Jumbotron. SJF is a fantastic facility too, definately first class, but parking there can be a pain just like Fauver. I think things may have just outgrown Fauver, and the parking there is AWFUL! I remember people from Bath having their vehicles broken into at Fauver.... no stories like that at Paetec. The turf at Paetec and SJF is a world better than Fauver. I will admit the atmosphere at Fauver was always electric, but I kind of like having the crowds seperated. a lot less stupidity that way (unless you have Bath and Hornell on the same side for consecutive games). Heck, just give me a place to watch some great football and a clean john to use at halftime and I'll be happy!

...Fisher hands down. But in answer to the question I'd have to say Pae-Tec. Unless...does Fauver have new turf?? I haven’t been there in years and the last I knew they still had that "cement". If they have a new field I'll change my answer to Fauver. But Fisher still has the best over all facility in my opinion.

From an atmosphere perspective the best facility was definitely Fauver. St. John Fisher was better than Paetec, but Fauver was still had the best atmosphere in my opinion. Damageinc68 is right there was nothing like running through the tunnell onto the field at Fauver.

A good question. This is a little off topic, but OA seems to have the best luck at Paetec, they havent lost a game there. St. John Fisher, OA has only lost there once i believe. At Fauver, however, they havent won. So i guess Paetec is the pick for someone like me :D Plus, Paetec itself is a very nice stadium and has nice, clean facilities

You might be too young but Paetec doesnt even compare to Fauver or Fisher with respect to history of Section V football. You used to dream to be able to play at those two places.

I agree....thats all people talked about was getting to FAUVER...it was hallowed ground. I had never heard of cars being broken into there. I do agree that the parking wasnt the best.

as a fan or parent , wasn't the long walk from parking lot to stadium part of the build-up , part of the anticipation , the excitement of the game . the walk never bothered me because of what was at stake . never heard of cars getting broken into either . have heard of people getting shot at with a pellett gun over at PaeTec though .

Paetec is in a terrible part of Rochester. I have no idea why it was built there.
I would not be surprised to see cars get broken into or somebody get mugged at some point. Try driving around there on a day when there is no game, no minivans and kids running around.
The stadium itself is nice - minus the non-finished pressbox - but it is the worst of the three places to have games because of the neighborhood.

Well someone before me had used the term ghetto, so I used it as well, but I put it in parenthesis. It seemed to me driving thru that the area surrounding Pae Tec was pretty run down and deteriorating.

Oh yeah, When Bath played Eden.... might have been a random, one time thing, but I've never heard of any incidents at Pae tec.

I have strong feelings about this topic.
Paetec is no place to be holding this game. I've been leaving the stadium after later games and had kids walk down the street with alcohol just outside the stadium. I have seen people pushing a grocery cart filled with clothing around. There is an "adult club" that has girls working there with two teeth dancing for change and more people hanging out in the parking lot than inside the establishment.
The only thing police can do is worry about the stadium.
The parking is bad at Fauver and I know Fisher was expensive, but both are way more safe and nice than Paetec.

Im not trying to argue with you here, you know much more than i do about this topic, but im just saying from an Oakfield standpoint, Paetec gets the nod because OA has never lost there.

FYI, OA has never won a sectional title at Paetec so how could you say that is the best place. 2004 they won it at Fisher and 2006 they won it at Aquinas. If the football team could have one game at Fisher/Fauver and then one game a Paetec I am 100% positive they would take Fisher/Fauver as their favorite place to play just because of the atmosphere alone.

I never got to play at Fisher or Paetec (built after my time), but my brother played at Paetec and said that the field was nice. I agree that the area around Paetec is terrible. I played in the Eddie Meath game at Fauver, which was a nice field. The turf was pretty soft (for turf).
I have to say that the worst turf I played on was at Hornell (no disrespect intended). This was in the mid to late nineties, and it was about as good as playing on sandpaper. Still got scars from that place. I hope for the Hornell players' sake that they've replaced the turf since then.
Aquinas' field looks pretty nice too.

I played at Fauver back when they had the cement turf and have since coached at Fauver, Fisher, and Pae tec. Here is my take on all three with my rating of each.
Fauver (Rating: 8) : Rich in tradition and a great football facility. Parking is a pain, but not a major one. There is no place to warm up before a game except on the field. Locker rooms are average. Good turf.
Fisher (Rating: 8): A great football facility, located in a great area that is easily accessible from everywhere. They have the field house right there, so you can warm up before you hit the field if you are the second game. Locker rooms that they let you use are not very big. Good turf.
Pae-Tec (Rating: 4): A horrible football facility. You can barely see the temporary football lines that they put on the field. The jumbo tron is very cool. The locker rooms are temporary trailers with folding chairs. Good turf. This is a soccer facility. It is in a horrible section of town. I believe that a parent was shot with a bb gun last year and had his car pelted by the shooter.

They stunned top-ranked and undefeated Onondaga in STATE semifinals at Paetec, as well as the DD/D game against ND, both after, and more important than, sectional finals. And, the Carrier Dome has a good football atmosphere but ask anyone on the team and they would NOT want to play there because they are 0-2 there. Yes, i know that Fisher/Fauver both have better atmospheres, but if it came down to just winning or losing, OA has won bigger games than Sectional championship games there and havent lost at Paetec

I'll give you the game against Onondaga was an important game but the game against ND was expected. To say that was a big time football game is ridiculous. I think both teams knew what the outcome was going to be. Your point about the Carrier Dome is the dumbest thing I have ever heard a person say. If you really think the team wouldnt want to play at the Carrier Dome then you are crazy. The Carrier Dome is the ultimate holy grail. It means you are one of the best football teams in the state if you make it there.

I gotta agree w/ that...when we went to the dome 2 straight years it was a AMAZING football experince. Would have been better if we won of course. Hopefully we will get another shot some day.
