Elba/Byron Bergen combining

no. not for a while at least. everybody's gonna keep doing the same sports only they'll be a bigger school with one or two more guys on every team

what about elba football. it's just a small bump from D to B isn't it.....

look at what one class does for you in basketball... class c to class cc. look at the competition difference.

but last year Byron Bergen was only 6 points shy of the sectional title. Even though they lost some key runners, they're still gaining some fast kids.

Elba football deffinetly has the potential to do well with or without Byron Bergen. they just need to cooperate with their coach

No, they'll have a few good kids from last years BB team and maybe gain a few from Elba, but they won't be a huge threat to schools like OA, Pembroke, and Alexander, i can see them competing with schools like Kendall and WC but BB lost way too much talent last year even with Elba merging i don't think they'll be that big of a threat.

he's a good runner. hense the track thread, that i just realized is a track thread. i just was hoping to add some insight to how the bb/elba team will look this year. good runners make a team better. that would be why i said his name. if he wasn't a good runenr than i doubt that i would say anything because you asked how the team would look........ of course if he doesnt do track then i guess none of this matters

they only lost a few kids which will be made up for with the kids from elba. Elba has some quick kids that should put them right back on top where they were last year.

yeah but those few kids they lost made up the bulk of the points they earned. I highly doubt Elba's kids will be able to patch up the BB team.

bb is losing guys like the two guarino's, dakota speed, martinelli, zach green and several other point getters.... doubt anybody from elba can match that tallent

i don't know... i just know he ran with oakfield when he was a freshman in x-c and was pretty good then. then he moved around and i know he was looking to run somewhere

they'll have sprinters yes, but distance? no, the Guarino twins can't be easily replaced Martinelli will be their best and Trevor Laurie behind by a few seconds. Their best high jumper now is Mark Holley, who had good jumps last year but won't even be close this year due to an injury his best jump in indoor was a 5'2 i believe. they have no one left on the leader board for triple or long that can contend well, but findling long and triple jumpers in a program with good sprinters shouldn't be too hard. the same with the throws they don't have anyone left. point in case: too many kids lost will be detrimental to their program, even with Elba patchwork. maybe in a year or two they'll be back to the top of the GR but for now, no they won't be close.

That is a good plan, we might get some decent distance runners. And then maybe more cuz ND athletes can join a good team... not to mention a good track.
