Softball

ALLEGANY COUNTY: Jordan Ingalls, Bolivar-Richburg. The junior pitcher won four games last week, giving up only five hits, walking none, striking out 46 and also hit a grand slam.

FINGER LAKES EAST I: Erin Nargi, Victor. The junior pitcher went 3-0 last week with a perfect game and two one-hitters.

FINGER LAKES EAST II: Courtney Lincoln, Waterloo. The catcher hit batted .624 with a home run, two triples and two doubles.

FINGER LAKES WEST: Jessica Herbst, Naples and Alyssa Liberatore of DeSales. Herbst, a junior pitcher, went 3-1 with her only loss coming to undefeated Honeoye. She also threw her first career no-hitter. Liberatore, a junior pitcher, was 5-0 last week, with 30 strike outs and a 1.80 ERA.

GENESEE REGION: No candidate submitted.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY I: Marcie Mallaber, Keshequa. The third baseman hit .565 last week including three triples, a double, and seven RBI while scoring 12 runs as Keshequa beat Avon, Geneseo Pavilion, East and the School of the Arts.

LIVINGSTON COUNTY II: Brooke Weidman and Morgan Kuhn of Wayland-Cohocton. Senior pitcher/shortstop Weidman hurled a perfect game against Wellsville and hit .500. Junior pitcher/third baseman Kuhn threw her second no-hitter of the year vs. Livonia, a two-hitter against Honeoye Falls-Lima and hit .400.

MONROE COUNTY I: Alissa Dixon, Webster Schroeder and Kelly Bartell, Churchville-Chili. Dixon, a seventh-grade pitcher, went 4-1 last week with a shutout and 55 strikeouts. Bartell, a junior catcher/outfielder, went 10 for 22 with four walks and nine stolen bases.

MONROE COUNTY II: Megan Dunham, Webster Thomas. The senior infielder went 8 for 9 with three doubles and seven RBI.

MONROE COUNTY III: Megan Coffey, Greece Odyssey. The freshman pitcher had 25 strikeouts, no walks, no earned runs while allowing only nine hits.

PRIVATE/PAROCHIAL: Brianna Allen, Aquinas. The pitcher went 3-0 last week, including a perfect game against Geneva.

STEUBEN COUNTY I: Angie Holden, Addison. The third baseman went 6 for 9 with a home run, two triples and three RBI.

STEUBEN COUNTY II: Alicia McFarland and Alison Cagle of Avoca. A shortstop, McFarland went 5 for 7 with a triple and five runs scored. A second baseman, Cagle went 7 for 12 and scored six runs.

WAYNE COUNTY: Myrrah Dubey, North Rose-Wolcott. The senior catcher/outfielder went 10 for 14 with a home run, triple, and five RBI.

The weekly award winners are chosen by Section V after receiving nominations from area coaches. The awards are sponsored by Birds Eye Foods.
