I just got back from the BCA and after watching both teams, I think that East will win unless Miller drops about 30. (which is very possible)

Miller will need a 30 point 20 reb effort and east needs to have a cold shooting night. Rush needs the role players to play great too. This will be a fun game to watch.

If hiltons defense could hold Miller to 11 points, then East should easily be able to do the same with their better athletes. With this being said East should come out on top. Should be a good game though.

I agree Hilton didn't really hold Miller to 11; he could have had more. But at the same time lets give them so credit! Look what they did to C. Wilson from Franklin and D Potter from Spencerport. They took those teams best players right out of the game. I belief Hilton had a little something to do with Miller's 11, the other players from RH stepped up something that Franklin and Spencerport didn't do.
Congrats to Hilton on turning it around and having a great yr

Once again shows what a versatile player he is - Hilton did the only thing they could do - run 2 and 3 guys at Miller - being an unselfish team player he lead the team in assists and got the championship - Give credit where credit is due - by no means was he shut down - unless the only thing you care about is points -
I do agree with Greeceman - that Harris kid - only a sophomore - is one of the best big game athletes in Section V - If not for Miller - who deservedly won the MVP - Harris would have an MVP in both the football and basketball finals with 2 years to go.

Did anyone else think it was suprising to have Miller (RH) and many East starters in late in their game. Miller went out with 2:00 to go, but they were up big 3-4 minutes before. For 2-3 minutes before he went out Hilton (not necessarily being dirty) was playing to rough him up and playing real physical on him.. basically hack him everytime he got near the basket.. Why would you risk something happening to him when you were up 20+.. get him out.. Too much is riding on the next game with East. Nothing happened, but man a bit risky. Hopefully it wasn't so he could get a couple more stats.
East starters played a lot late as well. Maybe it was to get the opportunity to really flow, but if anyone saw the game you all knew that East was good when they decided to be good. Why risk having a guy like Balkum in as the buzzer sounded. Maybe I am wrong, but it struck me when Miller was getting roughed up why he was still in!

What i'm saying is Hilton had to run 2 guys at him, but east wont. And they played a 1-3-1 against wilson where they already doubled anything that went in the corner, which may or may not be Dane. I think this defense will hold any major scoring from Dane

I wouldn't "rush" (bad pun intended) to the assumption that East is going to win big, I think Dane Miller can lead R-H to a big dub-ya.

I agree somewhat, if Dane can pull off a big game whether it is with points or a large amount of assists Rush will have a chance

East will win 78-67. Dane will score 24 but it will not be enough to pull off the win for Rush. East will be up by about 4-10 most of the game. I know I sound pretty confident in this but it's just a prediction. How many dunks do you think there will be in the game?

10 dunks tops and minimum 3 fights

is they don't have a kid like dane miller.East is going to need bell to have a big game to win this one.
I agree that Miller is the best player in Section V but East is the best team. Miller will be the best player on the floor. the problem for Rush is that the 2nd, third, forth, and possibly fifth best players on the floor all play for East.

That is what I was saying. Miller is only one guy. That is why I said he is the best player but East is the best team.

Agreed, it was a team effort in East's win over Rush. Also holding miller to under 15 points was key to their success

What do you have to say now?
Miller had an average game. Certainly average for a future D1 player.
Bell was very sub-par, yet East still managed to win.
Stick to what you know.......
As good as east

east has so much talent
Bell could be on the bench the whole game and they still would of won and still would have the same record they did in the regular season
it's always a different player on east with the game high every game almost

places basketball over what the kids are getting in the class room a team in the city like east can happen. The fact is most of the east basketall stars don't go to college or go to college and don't play because of there grades, while they get at college .I know of at least two players at east who shouldn't be playing right now because of there gpa.
Shouldn't be playing based on your opinion or school policy? Does the city have an academic eligibility policy?

know if we should start a thread on this or continue this on this thread. Here is what I do know nate brumfield was ineglibe during his time at east and there sectional titles there. As for east team goes one of there inegible kids was mentioned on this forum on a prevoius post in another thread, as for the other one goes you can private message me if you want to know the details on him but I choose not to make it public.
I don't want any specifics. I'm just curious as to whether you are familiar with the City School's Academic Eligibility policy (if they have one). Not all schools have one so therefore it can be impossible for a student to be ineligible. Simple Questions:
1) Does the city have such a policy?
2) Are you familiar with it?
3) Are you basing your "ineligible" statements on policy or opinion?

You know that's pretty low to bring up right now and it calls into question many people's integrity. I still dont think you understand the seriousness of libel and making such proclamations without hard and fast, readily available evidence is in my mind making libelous statements.

of nate brumfield are facts those are not rumors.
You said you know of two players at East who should not be playing right now, BUT you don't really know their situations you just know second hand hearsay. Please don't post that sort of thing again. Besides raising legal questions it reflects poorly on you.
