The Bath Lax team came within a whisker of ending their 30+ game losing streak against PalMac Tuesday night, 7-6. Bath had many chances to come away with the win, but just seem to be plagued by so many unforced errors. They have a very difficult time passing and catching the ball which are fundamental skills that are needed to be successful. It has to be frustrating, but there may be some light at the end of the tunnel !?

The junior Rams are 7-2 at this point of the season. They have competed against and beaten some larger schools who have proven ,varsity, teams. They have beaten Aquinas (2), Newark, Midlakes, Livonia, Pal-Mac, and Waterloo. They lost to McQuaid 8-6 and then went up to their " house " (McQuaid )and got spanked 12-4. Pal-Mac JV's cancelled their second contest because they stated " we had inadvertently scheduled too many games and have to cancel our 2nd game with you. (Bath) " Interesting timing ?

The remaining games on their schedule are: Livonia, Midlakes, Corning West, and Horseheads. Even barring a complete collapse, the junior Rams should finish well above .500. Considering they start (2) 8th graders and a ton of freshmen, maybe the program will be on the upswing in a year or two ?? I'm a baseball guy, but follow all of Bath/Haverling's athletic team's successes and programs.

C-West came into the JV game with three losses for the season. Two of those losses were to a powerful C-East team; both in double overtime. Bath actually led the game at half time 4-2, but just doesn't have the numbers to maintain the fast pace that the game of lacrosse is played at. They gave West all they could handle and start two 8th graders and many freshmen. They are about two years away from becoming a competitive force in the Greater Rochester Lacrosse League. It is tough fielding two competitive teams in the same season with a B school, but Bath has proven in football and soccer that it can be done !
