Quite the ball game tonight for Bath. They pounded out 6 extra base hits against Livonia's ace pitcher, Chip Northrup.Mike Rossi ( soph. ) led Bath's attack with 3 hits and three RBI's boosting his batting average for the year to an even .500 ( 34-68 ) This avenges an earlier loss to Livonia 4-3 in 8 innings. Matt Whedbee ( soph. ) has 2 hits smacking a long triple to centerfield. Billy Crowe ( soph. ) had a triple and junior Brett Havens had 2 hits for the Rams. Senior Eric Howell started everything rolling with his triple to score two runs in the 3rd inning. Andy Ratchford ( sr. ) scattered 12 hits and struck out 8 Bull Dogs to gain his 3rd victory of the year. Bath has now defeated the 11th ranked B team in the state ( LeRoy 9-5 ) & the 19th ranked B team in the state. ( Livonia 10-5 ) ( Livonia is also seeded # 1 in Class BB ) Bath's difficult schedule has really begun to pay dividends as the season has progressed. Tomorrow's game against Penn Yan ( the # 3 seed in BB ) is a critical one for Bath. If they win, they can probably garner the # 3 seed in sectionals which would pit them against the # 2 seed ( instead of the # 1 seed ) in the semi final round. Anyone can beat anybody on any given day, but Bath would like to also avenge their loss to Penn Yan ( a 4-3 defeat ) a few weeks ago. This is the last game for Bath before the seedings on Sunday.
