You're kidding me right, of course AQ and Mercy are gonna be better than calmum they should be, most of the time when u have bigger schools they are gonna be a lot better than the smaller ones because they have a lot better talent than the them. That's just an unfair comparison.

oakfield has beaten pembroke, immaculata, and elba, among the better teams they have played. their only loss came to cal-mum 8-9 or something like that, when their ace was out due to injury.

The stupidity of this post and thread astounds me. Who has OA played? For starters, they play in a league that produced 3 sectional championships and an appearance in state semifinals last year, and the three teams, OA, Pembroke, and Elba, are all top seeds again this year. Pembroke was also one win away from states. Also, teams like Notre Dame and Kendall have drastically improved and are a tough matchup for anyone. Not to mention OA is undefeated in this tough league. They played Immaculata and Cal-Mum in non-league games, winning one and losing the other 8-7 with their 8th grade pitcher in the circle. Immaculata was ranked 9th in the state in Class C and 3rd among Buffalo small schools. They also played strong in the Depew tournament. And you suggest that OA isnt good because they dont play teams like AQ and Mercy? Last time i checked, OA was Class CCC and both of those schools are in the A category. Furthermore, many Section V athletes that may not have profiles on this site still read what people post, and you probably offended many members of that great team by throwing out their 16-1 record, saying, "who have they played." Then you go even further and insult Oakfield itself for being a rural community. Oh yeah, real classy of you. So why dont you get away from your computer and actually go and watch some softball so you know what you're talking about, instead of coming on here and ripping TEENAGERS and scholar athletes for playing (and being successful in) the sport they love.

bcherry8, well said. Oakfield has played some very strong teams and could give Mercy and Aq a run. They have the equalizer, an outstanding pitcher, with a team behind her.

Thanks for your support. And as much as people think that dominant pitcher=team in high school softball, it couldnt be further from the truth. A solid lineup 1-9 is a must, especially in sectionals, and OA definitely has that.
