Of the five teams left from Section 5, which one do you guys think has the best chance of winning a state title and why?

The teams, by class:
AA-Hilton
A-Pittsford Sutherland
B-Bath
C-Honeoye
D-Notre Dame

Far West Regionals:
Hilton plays Hamburg. Pittsford Sutherland plays Dunkirk. Bath plays Gowanda. Honeoye plays Frewsburgh. Notre Dame plays Pine Valley.

Anything can happen in the post season... on any given day... we are keenly aware of that and take every game seriously. and for the record... Bath starts 6 juniors and a sophomore. We are a bit on the youthful side, as well.

If Frewsburg's pitching is as thin as everyone's in Section V Class C, I expect a Honeoye victory. That team can flat out hit the baseball! Alexander hit 3 home runs in the qualifying game and couldn't keep pace with them.

Yeah, they are a very good hitting team and should win if their offense shows up. Any idea who is pitching for them?

it's got to be Way for Honeoye. He is there best by far.

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure. I watched him pitch a little bit on Saturday against Alexander and he had some pretty good stuff.

Any thoughts on Notre Dame. Does anyone know anyhting about Pine Valley? The Section 6 website doesn't even have a link for baseball...

I think Way is their best player, but the McGuire kid has come through for them in some tight games as well, both with his bat and pitching. Good luck Bulldogs!!

has the best chance to win states as long as the don't get overconfident. They have the three most important things a great catcher, short stop and pitching staff.

Section V goes 4 and 1 against section VI in the regionals. Bath having the only lose in a 2-1 heart breaker. Good luck to the four teams from section V as the enter state play.

Don't sleep on Honeoye. They have 2 legitimate arms in Way and McGuire and a great catcher in Ward. If they can put together 2 solid games offensively from the rest of the lineup they could win it all.

You got it greeceman, I've been saying all year they are the best in the area and they've done nothing but prove it on the field. They finished us off and I've been singing their praises even though they're not.

Go Hilton!

sucka.

worked harder then any other section five team in the offseason and it showed on the field this year. Murphey has done a great job with that program in just 3 seasons.
