Looks like FLCC cleaned up with Ward, McGuire and Booth. I think you add in Havens and a few other section V guys mentioned on this board and it looks like a really good class.

FLCC stands for Finger Lakes Community College. Way is going to Harvard, not FLCC.

I think he meant why was Way not on the all-star list. He failed to read both articles, namely the one in which Way is honored as player of the year.

yeah and if the daily news did an all star team, you could say that gcc cleaned up well. wherever the papers coverage area is is who's gonna have the most people.
and what kind of all-star list has the mvp title in one article and the rest in the other article. i knew the other one was about way, but come on really. i actually looked at the top of the page expecting to see "marcus way, Honeoye, MVP"

didn't the D&C do an entire article on Schwind being player of the year?

The Messenger was not the one who stated FLCC cleaned up. It was an observation stated in here. This format has mentioned several players going to GCC so they also did well and of course MCC always does.
The cost of college these days and other financial situations currently facing many parents is going to be a boom to these local colleges.
The D&C indeed did have seperate articles, but also did list Jon Schwind in the GR list first. The Messenger out of Canandaigua has its own list of players from their part of the Finger Lakes Region after all that is who normally subscribes to and reads that paper. By the way (no pun intended) Marcus was in both of those. I was also glad to see other players not from just Monroe Co. listed in the GR list. This is both a tribute to the individual players, but also to others who make Rochester aware of good players outside of Monroe Co. including all you guys in here.
If other papers don't put forth the effort to do more to promote players from their subscriber area, then complain to them, do not complain about those papers that do. Remarks like that are nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to put down other players or places accomplishments. All of these players, no matter what town they came from, and where they are going to should be getting our praise and support.

i wasn't complaining about them being biased at all. he said that flcc cleaned up well. i said that's cuz it's their coverage area so of course they will clean up well.
and all i want to know is why the hell is there an all star list that doesn't at least mention the mvp on it. the seperate article is great, but if all i want to do is read about the messenger all stars and i'm looking quick to see the mvp why didn't they just put his name on the top. because after all he is an all star isn't he?

I'll give ya that last one, the D&C did a better job with pics, stats as well, but they have a bigger staff, budget, etc also. I don't think the Messenger article was even written by one of the top sports staffers as I don't remember a bio name with the article. In fact they really lacked numbers in perticularly focusing more on touchy-feely stuff. What was the favorite memory.... probably get in trouble for this one, but it was not written like most guys would write it up.
