I think most would like to run in college. It does depend on what your goals are. What is the level of competition like... Do you want to focus on school stuff (getting good grades)... if you run xc are you forced to do indoor and outdoor also....Is the team good enough that you can actually win a few or is the team so good that you will never even make the team... or is the team so bad that it comes down to like a social club? I think most decent (always in the top 5) hs runners can get on most community college or suny teams.

depending on my workload. I'm going to run at UB. Indoor and Outdoor. I talked to Coach Jenkins and I told him I just wanna see how hard it will be first. And that's with a :51 400m so anything is possible

Whats your 200 time. If you run a 400 in 51, you can probably hit a pretty good time in the 2.

I never ran it my senior year but I always wanted to... my splits comin around on the 400 was usually 23.. so an open would prob be mid-high 23's to maybe 24 flat

it's just a whole different realm of racing. Probably the toughest race in track. to sprint 400m is nearly impossible and that's why you see faces wretched with pain coming around that last turn.. i have a pic of me at states comin around the corner passing a kid and it's pretty funny

PM me sometime. I got into USMA and can provide some info on the academies, application process, etc. if you're serious about it.

personally i think the 800 is one of the toughest bc u need speed while still maintaining endurance

yeah i agree. its considered a mid distance event but its more of a long sprint. steeple chase i think is the hardest.

yeah the 800 was pretty bad. I ran it last year in sectionals. gross. But I'll still have to stick with the 400.. but it's bias cuz I've run it about 200 times hahaha

Im currently running at the University at Albany. We started pre-season training for indoor two weeks ago and have a solid team. Its alot different in college, like training with 4 guys that run under 1:50 in the 800 and some section 5 alumni such as joe greene. If you run for a division 1 school though, it becomes your life so be ready to make a dedication.
