Yeah, the Clemson v. Bama game should be a good one. I hate when the big schools play tiny schools the first week just to get back into their rythm. If you are a true contender you should play a tough team every week.

Hellz yeah! Notre Dame rocks. Jimmy Clausen is going to have a breakout season this year. I think they will only lose 1 or 2 games and one of those is obviously gonna be the USC game.

i think that even the loser of the usc-ohio state game can still make it to the national championship game. The big problem for usc will be handling their road games in the pac 10. They always seem to have trouble with one team that is better than their record would show. (i am a closet usc fan because i know that if i announce it then i will be hated on for being a band wagoner, which i kind of am, so i really don't like to say much about how much i love usc and pete carroll)

21-13 notre dame over SDS i was paranoid the whole game cuz san diego st played so well and people are going to think notre dame sucks still after this game but i think its a positive game for the irish because 1. jimmy looks like a all-american qb this game (none of the interceptions were his fault) 2. last year teams bath notre dame, this game notre dame was until the 4th beating themself, if they just play normal and dont "beat themself" they can beat everyone on there schedual except for u$c.
3. all runningbacks contributed and armando allen looked fast as heck
4 OL did not allow a sack ( i know its san diego st but give me and soccerstud a break here.)
the only negative thing is the irish DL was worst than last year they only sacked the qb once and SDS line isnt that good compared to other teams, they need to fix this.
Give golden tate the ball!!!

I think ND might be the real deal this year. They came out slow last week against San Diego St. but really showed what they can do this week against Michigan. They started strong. Now they just have to show that they can finish the game just as strong as they started today. If they do that, I believe they can beat anyone in college football.
On a side note, Clausen really likes hooking up with that freshman WR. I can't wait to see what kind of numbers those 2 put up together in a couple years.

This is a joke right?? USC will beat ND by at least 4 TDs unless they lose a bunch of guys between now and that game. USC defense is scary good.
Think of it like this, ND has struggled with San Diego St. and beat a bad Michigan team (I am happy about this). USC beat a decent ACC team 52 to 3, then beat what I'm pretty sure is a top 10 team 35 to 3. USC only loses a game this year if they beat themself.

Robinson must go now. The man has no answer for anything that is going on on during the game. If you have been watching the games you would see that Syracuse could very well have beaten Northwestern, we had a lead early in that game, Akron, as a defensive coach, there is no reason why Robinson should be letting Akron score 48 points on us, Northeastern, which we did win, and Pittsburgh, which we were winning until HIS defense let up 16 straight points.
The players are playing, but Robinson and his staff are not coaching. We definately have the talent, the coaching just isn't there.
The only bright spot to our season is that Curtis Brinkley has just been nasty this year at running back

I've seen 3 of the games Nothwestern, Northeastern and Pitt. Most of the time, as with the last 2 years. The offense has done next to noghting and the D is on the field most of the game..they are gonna get tired, ANY defense will. I don't think the talent level is there at the moment, but it has gotten a little better..that's why I am thinking maybe 2 more years.... But like Jim Brown said....Talent doesn't make up for what he sees as lack of effort.

But the offense is getting there. I've watched every game this season, and can tell you that with Dantley at QB, and the way that the groung game is going, that we have the talent to win some games. At least more than we have been. There is no reason why we should be losing to Akron, having trouble with a terrible D3 school, and losing such big leads like the one to Pitt.
Do you know what our third down percentage on defense is?
I don't have the exact number with me, but before the Penn State game, opponents had had 3rd and long 11 times on Cuse's defense, and had converted ALL 11 times. That is where the coaching has to come into play.
The man was handed an ok football team and he has dropped it into the depths of despair. They can't even get the Ernie Davis Statue right!!!

Im a seasons ticket holder at SU and have been going 2 almost every home game for the last 5-6 years. I don't think they have the talent level to compete with the big east right now. I mean in Robinson's first year or so they were at least competitive... they were still beating buffalo 31-0. Now they aren't (argueably) even the best team in New York State. As far as this year i'll start with the defense. The first problem is that they have been on the field WAY too long. Pitt had the ball for 38/60 mins against them last week. You can't expect you're defense to perform well for that long of a time. And even in the first half they played well. But things really broke down in the second half. They were slower and smaller than Pitt and McCoy broke virtually every tackle. They played with heart but they just got tired. As far as the offense, they also showed a spark vs. Pitt (by far (with the possible exception of Northwestern) their toughest competition) but couldn't come thru when the game was on the line. I think on of the reasons for that is the lack of playmakers. They would have had one of the most prolific passing offenses in the Big East had it not been for some stupid offseason decisions. Tom Ferron left after his Freshman year when he lead the team in receptions. Taj Smith declared early for the NFL draft and went as an undrafted Free Agent. Mike Williams was kicked out of school for academic reasons. With Ferron and Smith as Seniors and Williams as a Sophomore, they would have had a superb downfield and underneath passing game, opening up the field for Brinkley, Carter and Hogue to run the ball and taking pressure off the offensive line. Robinson has recruited some excellent offensive playmakers but has experienced some bad luck. And I almost forgot to mention Jermaine Pierce, stud Freshman linebacker that had to retire due to a heart condition. I don't think there is any doubt SU would be a different team if they had these four playmakers still on their roster.
