Just got back from watching the Holley Tournament here is a brief recap of the games.

Pal-Mac beat Batavia 2-1 in the 1st game. Batavia scored just over a minute in, it appeard that Pal-Mac just wasn't ready. Pal-Mac really controlled most of the rest of the half and #2 scored a goal with about 90 seconds left in the 1st half.

In the 2nd half PM #3 scored a goal with a great finish from in close, her teammate had the ball in the center of the field and the ball popped inside the 18 and she came out of nowhere to finish it off.

Batavia just looked gassed in the 2nd half - they didn't have many subs (neither did PM) but they didn't get much going. Batavia had a chance to go up 2-0 in the 1st half and I think the game would have been much different.

Alexander beat Holley 3-1 in the 2nd game and it was a much more entertaining game to watch. Alexander scored about halfway through the 1st half on a nice little overlap down the right side with #5 blasting a shot in the far corner from just inside the the 18. Alexander's #22 made a great play about 10 minutes into the 2nd half where she had the ball on the right side, beat the defender with a little pass by her and then beat the keeper to the ball and finished calmly in the right corner. Holley made it 2-1 about 5 minutes later with a nice shot that Alexander's keeper got her hand on but it still found the corner. Alexander put it away when #20 (I think she was one of the 2 8th graders they started) had a great finish on a cross from #22.

Alexander had several kids on the bench but I don't think they used more that 2 or 3 of them in the game. Holley's #9 had a strong game along with 16 up top. Alexander's goalie was impressive also.

Should be interesting to see how the games go tomorrow without much turnaround. PM, Batavia, and Alexander all only used a couple subs while Holley had a big bench.
