We usually have an ok team. This year is probably one of our strongest years once our entire team gets healthy (we ended up losing to York because of lack of subs). Plus none of the teams in D2 are that strong this year. Before the season started I had it going 1. Pavillion 2. LeRoy 3. Cal-Mum. Pavillion lost to Letchworth, we lost to York, and Cal-Mum tied Avon to start the season.

So i guess d2 is kinda open

Yeah, that's why I said "up for grabs" next to D2 lol No one team has shown that they really want it yet.

HFL is going to be super hard to beat with Day and Trinidad. We really have to capitalize on the inexperienced defense to take points from those games.

Those two have the ability to be one of the premier striker tandems in all of section V. Both have size speed and skill. Jonny is the more skilled player but Mike will not be outworked that is a guarantee. mike also knows how to come up big.

They are very good players, but they do not come close to the Shuber/Reidy combo of last year. Also, they couldn't score a goal in their scrimmage against Webster Thomas and Aquinas a couple of weeks ago. HFL will do well this year...possibly make it to the semifinals again.

They have, at best, an okay team. Yeah, they are a lot better than they have been in the last 2 or 3 years but I still don't see them winning the division. They have speed on the flanks but no one who can really do any moves to get free. Once they start playing some harder teams the guys on the flanks will not be able to walk right down to the corner and cross it like they have been doing. Their defence isn't very strong either so they will give up some goals in tough games.

Be on the look out for Letchworth. They may not have a strong team but they are skilled. Their record shows that they are struggling but wait till they open up.

Letchworth is seeded No.1 for division. Is it a fluke or are they decent?

Letchworth is a tale of two teams so far this year, you either get the team that went into Pavilion and walked out with a 1-0 win, or the team that walked outta Cal-Mum with a 1-1 tie. When they're on their game the ball gets worked around the field well and placed in the back of the net. When they're not the ball gets blasted on all ends of the field. The big test for the division lead will be how they hold up against LeRoy this Thursday night under the lights at Letchworth.

First off Schuber and Reidy were by far the best offensive players in the section last year but half the time Schuber didn't even play up top so they can't really be counted as a tandem. And the HFL guys however talented they are they quit on their team whenever they fall behind. I think the Bath tandem of Carpenter and Smith has to be mentioned when discussing the most productive tandem of attackers in the section.

That is so true! Even when they are on top of the game they can't put it in the back of the net. But I heard that they're working on it. Lots of practice. We'll see if it pays off.

By the way, one team that is clicking lately in Livingston County is Geneseo. Their Liberian duo of Mel Rodgers and Elvin Johnson along with Jake Caplan up top will be tricky for any class C team to deal with. Even though he 'plays' with the ball too much at times, I think Johnson maybe one of the top sophomores I've seen in Section Five this season.

I'm seriously considering driving down for their game at Keshequa on the 20th.

Avon's Sam Cotton is another sophomore who could be a varsity starter for any program in Section Five.

I haven't had a chance to see Cotton play for Avon, but I have seen Geneseo on the pitch. If you're looking for impact Sophomores and you manage to get down to see that game keep your on eye Geneseo #19 Ryan Moynihan. He's not as flashy as Elvin Johnson but when the kid gets around the net he's got an eye for putting it home. And you hit it right (emphasis on the RIGHT) on the head with Elvin he does play with the ball too much and it's all right footed, oh sure he preps and passes with the left, but when he dances with the rock you can be sure that the important touches are done with his right. I expect big things from the Geneseo Sophomores in the years to come, they'll learn, they'll grown and they are gonna be dangerous.

Just in. Letchworth beat Leroy 1-0 last night. It was an amazing game. Alot of hard work from both teams. They both wanted the win.

Letchworth has three division games left: York, Avon, and Leroy. We play York tomorrow, Avon next Tuesday, and Leroy the week after.

Major Kudos to the Avon team this year for proving me wrong. Very much improved to year's past.

Avon has a developing program that made a large improvement this year. Coach Tony Patti should be on a short list for Livingston County Coach of the year.
