My Good friend Joel Oriend host of the Local Sports Edge and also the voice of the Haverling Rams Football team and Sports Director at W.V.I.N Radio Station 98.3 in Bath is having eye surgery today, Joel who is partially blind is having surgery on his one "good" eye and theres no telling what might happen. Doctors think he'll come out of surgery with no trouble and this will help him but the same doctors said the same thing when they operated on his other eye and he hasn't been able to see out of it since. So Joel is obviously worried that if things go wrong that he'll never get to work in radio again and will never get to call another Rams football game again. Joel will still be in recovery in Syracuse tomorrow night so he won't be with the Rams in Livonia this week and he won't be hosting the Local Sports Edge this weekend either. If all goes well he'll be back to work next week.
I'm asking Bath Ram Football fans and fans of the Local Sports Edge to please send Get Well Cards and Warm Wishes to Joel, here's a guy who despite being partially blind excels at what he does and gives it 100% everytime NO MATTER WHAT, Joel Bleeds "Big Blue" and loves the Haverling Rams, in my opinion Coach Carroll and the Rams are lucky to have a guy like Joel doing the Football games, Before Joel there was no Coaches Corner every week with Coach Carroll, there wasn't player of the games and they sure didn't have the opening that they have now for all of the games, Joel is a class Act and I'm very proud to call him my friend and I'm praying that he comes out of this surgery alright!
Please Send him your best wishes
