They are good enough to make the playoffs this year if they get off to a good start. I don't know if they are good enough to get past the 2nd round of the playoffs though. I can't wait though! Oct. 10th!!

I think they can creep into the 7th or 8th spot in the conference. My favorite player, Nathan Paetsch, is going to step into his starting role on defense and perform well.

I wouldn't put Paestch in the starting lineup right away. Mike Weber and Paestch are fighting for the final roster spot (Ruff looks like he will carry 7 defensemen).

I wouldn't put Paestch in the starting lineup right away. Mike Weber and Paestch are fighting for the final roster spot (Ruff looks like he will carry 7 defensemen).
He should start. Kalinin is awful. He should be traded for a bag of pucks

Are you even a fan? Kalinin isn't on the team anymore. They refused to re-sign him and he signed with NYR on July 1st for a 1 year deal.

But yes, he is god awful.

Holy crap. Drew a blank on that one. Wow. I deeply apologize for that one, lol. My defensive pairings would be Tallinder and Lydman, Spacek and Numminen (?), Paetsch and Sekera. If Numminen's fitness is a problem, then Weber will play. I think defense and physicality are this team's weaknesses.

I probably should have mentioned this last post, but the Sabres traded for Craig Rivet and it looks like he will be paired with Lydman. I believe it'll be Tallinder and Spacek (if I remember correctly from the article I read), then Sekera and ?. Numminen would be my first guess as the Sabres brass have talked him up all off-season.

Hopefully he stays fit and doesnt have any more complications. I think Paetsch should get far more minutes. He does the little things that people dont always recognize.
