Sorry to disappoint, lol. I think the Sox have found a future Cy Young winner in Jon Lester. The kid is dynamite.

I agree with bcherry. Sox are gonna win it all, alot oy young talent including Jon Lester and possibly the AL MVP Dustin Pedroia.

Ellsbury is very good as well. Same with Jed Lowry Clay Buchholz. Papelbon isnt exactly old, either.

I'm not sure who will win it all but I'm pretty sure it won't be Boston, now If you didn't know already I'm a Yankee so I'm probably Biased but I just don't see Boston winning it this year. This actually might be the National League's year to win one, Phillies? Dodgers? Brew-Crew?

Of the 4 teams in the NL I think the Phillies or the Cubs have the best shot. Even though Chicago lost game 1 to LA I still think that they will win the series.

Let's turn this into a attack Cherry as a bandwagon fan thread to the point where it gets closed.

Nah, I'm kidding, haha.

I was impressed by the Dodgers and Sox last night but I still am holding onto my preseason prediction of a Cubs-Angels World Series.

Wow, is Turntwo turning over a new leaf? Does he finally realize that I am not a bandwagoner and have supported the Red Sox my entire life? It appears so.

First off, the Sox, in my opinion, are going to be the next team that might qualify as a dynasty. Thay have great young arms on the pitching staff. Lowrie is/will be a stud at SS for many years to come. They will probably be shopping for a 3rd basemen this off season. I doubt that Lowell will return, unless he is under contract. I forgot what kind of deal he signed last year.

On a side note.

Reporter to Jeter. " Derek, what is the WORST invention in your lifetime?" Jeter, " it would have to be the camera phone. Everywhere I go people are snapping my picture."

Reporter to A-Rod. Same question. A-Rod "October"

I like the NL this year. For some reason, I really think that the Zambrano will come up HUGE in these playoffs, and the Dodgers and their red sox "washups" aka, franchise players that they don't want to pay anymore, and of course they have torre leading them with all of his experience, without the yankee pressure...

But I like Zambrano a lot!

boobiemiles

Wow, I haven't even looked at the playoff matchups until just now. I guess that Dodgers/Cubs NL Finals won'd be able to happen...

And what the hell happened to my boy carlos Zambrano!

To ask you if you saw the game last night? Bib Z didn't look that bad but the Defense behind him sure did 4 errors two in the same inning, it's going to be hard for the Cubbies to win 3 in a row especially having already used Zambrano.

Everybody in the NL is playing for the runner-up trophy. The AL is superior. The Red Sox are the cream of the crop there. If the Red Sox get upset, I still like the AL to win the Series.

The Dodgers have good young pitching, but I see them crumbling under pressure. manyy will screw something up, that is a given. The Cubs are just the Cubs. I think they have dug too big of a hole.

Milwaukee is in disarray. The Phillies are my pick to win the NLCS and then get steamrolled by the Sox. Remember, the AL has homefield, which for Boston, except when Dice-K pithches, mean alot.

Most intriguing World Series Matchups in my mind:

Cubs v. White Sox (Chi-Chi) - What better way for the Cubbies to break out of their 100 year drought then a series against the South Siders?

Dodgers v. Angels (LA-LA) - The battle for Los Angeles.

Cubs v. Red Sox - Two of baseball's most historic franchises in two of baseball's most historic venues. A real throwback series for all the purists out there.

Thats funny. How many World Series titles have your Yankees won since the turn of the century? None. The Yankees have to be considered scrubs before the Sox.

Easy Buddy I'm a Yankee and I don't want to here that kind of crap! Ha Ha just kidding............You have to remember the Yankees won a majority of their titles before the Big Spending sprees of the last few years. We won quite a few titles with "Home Grown" players, Derek Jeter has always been a Yankee, Bernie Williams=Life Long Yankee, Mariano Rivera=Life Long Yankee Jorge Posada=Life Long Yankee Those guys were 4 Key players with our most recent Championship teams and they're all life Long Yankees, there's probably more but those are the ones that I'm pulling off the top of my head.

A large part of our team is made up of homegrown talent. The Yankees go after high-profile free agents and sacrifice their prospects. Thats why you are the Evil Empire even though our team also has a large payroll.

Don't even pretend that the Red Sox like to pay their players!!!

Pedro?
Manny?
Nomar?

I believe that these 3 are 3 guys who were HUGE parts of the Sox world series runs.

And have you ever heard of Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, Melky Cabrera, Mike Mussina, Andy Pettitte, Chen ming wang, and Joba Chamberlain?

You do realize that there was a reason why the yankees didn't get Santana in the off season right? because they wanted to keep their home grown products!!!

Mussina????? He was Baltimore's before being lured away by the Yankees for big bucks.

Everytime I hear any Yankee fan talk about their 26 titles I want to puke, especially when it comes from some 20 something kid. How many were you alive to witness? The most famous Yankee of all was Babe Ruth, an original Red Sox.

Let's say that you younger guys were born in 1985, I would bet I am pretty close. During your lifetime the mighty Yankees have won 4 World Series and none since since 2000. They have gone 8 years and counting without a World Series Championship. They choked away a 3-0 lead to the Red Sox, something that had never been done before, so you do have that in the record books.

Dice-K......I bet you are all wishing that the Yankees did spend the money to talk to him. It turns out the Red Sox did OK. Meanwhile you had Phil Hughes and Ian Kennedy, your homegrown talent combine for a whopping ZERO wins this year. Nice job.

Another thing. The Yankees lead the steroid era in admitted/suspected abusers. Giambi, Pettite, Clemens, I know I am forgetting a couple. In that same era, The Red Sox have ZERO suspects. A real class act those Yankees. I guess the old adage if you aren't cheating you aren't trying really does apply to them.

Lastly, The Yankees DO NOT have their players names on their jerseys. Why do I see names on the backs of jerseys of these MORONS that where them? Just the other day I am at the gym and in walks Jason Giambi and Derek Jeter. They didn't look anything like they do on TV. They even had Yankee tattoos so I knew it had to be them. All I could do was stand there and laugh. It's not the Yankees that I hate, it's their overbearing fans.

Dont mind him. He's a Yankees fan ripping on me because my Sox lost. Im not gonna make excuses, Lester pitched well enough to get them a W in game seven, the bats were just silent after the first inning. Anyways, I say Rays in five games. The Phillies and Dodgers were basically playing for second best. Its nice to see some former Muckdogs in the World Series though. 2000th Post
