Anyone watch his 14 second fight? I was tuning in to watch Gina Carano anyway so I didn't care that Kimbo got the crap beat out of him by a last second undercard replacement. Just currious if any other Talksback members watched the fight.

I was a big fan of Ultimate Fighting & the UFC back in the early to mid 90's when it was just coming out and Ken Shamrock, the Gracie's, Tank Abbott, Pat Smith, Dan Severn, Oleg Taktarov & others were the big guns. But I thought it got watered down after a few years and I quickly stopped following it and can't even tell you who the best guys are now. But with Kimbo Slice being a big internet sensation and with articles in Maxim, ESPN the Magazine & features on Sports Center I started watching his Videos and became very interested in him so I tuned in last night and was looking forward to seeing him fight Shamrock only to be extremly dissapointed that Shamrock couldn't fight but was thrilled to learn that Kimbo was still going to fight and I did have visions of the fight only lasting 20 seconds or so but never in a million years thought it'd be Kimbo getting knocked out, I think you'll see Elite XC get him back into the "Ring" quickly to try and get the Buzz back that they just lost with him losing a fight.

I was devasted after that fight. I felt like everything that I had ever known completely changed.

But really.. 14 seconds! I couldn't believe it.
But people really have 'talked him up' a lot and he has gotten a lot of press.. So people assume he's the best. Obviously not.

Elite XC and Kimbo are both a joke compared to the UFC. Not that he woudn't tear all my limbs off and eat them though.

kimbo walked into a lose lose situation. he walked into a fight with someone he knew nothing about. That works when fighting guys on the street but this is professional fighting. and if he didn't fight everyone would be so disappointed that he didn't step into the ring. He was put into a bad spot and i expect him to be back into the ring soon and win his next 9 fights by KO. It was a total disappointment watching him lose like that.

He was paid a good bonus to agree to that fight last minute. It was really a sad sight. I am starting to think that Elite XC was trying to market themselves with him by setting up easy fights for him. That backfired this time because of a young fighter's desire to win and fearlessness. 14 seconds, come on.

I was watching for Gina Carano. She's a proven fighter who has beaten the best Thailand had to offer and now I'm hoping for a Gina Carano vs. Chris Cyborg battle.

if his first name was mister you wouldn't put a period after it because the period represents an abbreviation.
