I know we have a bunch of alumni playing for the Rochester Razorsharks, I wonder how many others we have playing professionally world wide. I'd bet it's close to 20.

This kid was the most athletic kid I ever saw play at the D3 level - WOW!! 6-5 with crazy hop.

Ben Bellucci was playing overseas as well - he played at SUNY Brockport - although he might be from a Section 3 high school. (Fulton - Osego Baldwinsville) I don't remember.

Art Long (East) is making a real good living overseas.
Ryan Pettinaella (McQuaid) is playing in Italy on Shawn Kemp's team.

Does anyone know where Marty O'Sullivan is? He was the other big an on that McQuaid team that was second in the country.

Sorry I put this on the wrong thread.
Marty just finished up at Fairfield. Lots of injuries. Think he's trying to go overseas, but not sure he's got any offers.

I'll bet he finds something. There's so many levels of play over there, pretty much any D1 baller can get some money of if they make the right connections. O'Sullivan should fit the Euro-ball mode pretty well too.

Pettinella plays for Premiata Montegranaro (http://www.eurobasket.com/team.asp?Cntry=ITA&Team=3617). They're 1-1 and Pettinella hasn't gotten any minutes yet. Montegranaro is a small town on the Adriatic Sea across from Croatia. The closest city is probably 45minutes away.

I don't see Art Long listed with any Italian teams this season. I think he was playing in Turkey or Ukraine last year.

Jack Leasure a 2004 McQuaid Graduate, has signed a one-year contract to play with the Worthersee Piraten of the Austrian A-League. Leasure, a Brighton native, helped lead the Knights to the State Class A title in 2003 and was a 2004 All-Greater Rochester basketball selection. Leasure played Division 1 basketball at Coastal Carolina where he was named the Big South Conference Player of the Year in 2006. Worthersee has already begun league play and has a record of 5-9. Its season runs until April 30.

It's about time. Leasure should have had a contract back in the summer, there is no reason why a player who has achieved all that he has over the last four years should NOT be playing in Europe somewhere. Although, it's probably not a big surprise that teams were unwilling to give him a chance...even the Razorsharks cut him from the roster. The Razorsharks will join the 325 Division I schools who didn't think Leasure could help their team. Coastal Carolina and now Worthersee definitely appreciate all the unwilling parties.

O'Sullivan is playing with the Razorsharks. Pettinella received dual-citizenship, so he is playing in Montegranaro as a European citizen. This means he isn't going to have a huge role b/c a team of this level will go after studs from the US (or washed up studs like Shawn Kemp) and now they can have Pettinella as a role player and still get top Americans.

Does he definitely have his dual citizenship papers already? My teammate's grandmother is Italian and he tried getting dual citizenship there but somehow wasn't able to. He played a season in Italy but once his citizenship papers didn't go through he was dumped by the team due to foreign roster spot limitations. He hopped around a couple other leagues, Spain and Portugal before he came home.

Some of the leagues over there create foreign roster limitations by setting a higher pay scale for non-EU players. Some of them pay pretty well, too!

Another teammate of mine just had Quincy Lewis join his team in Spain after Lewis played 3-4 NBA season. So I'm fairly certain Lewis has to be making between 500k-750k per season. Plus over there, the amount of your contract is announced after taxes and the team pays for your housing and vehicle and most meals.

If Leasure can establish himself, he'll essentially make expense free money over the next 4-5 years. He has no college loans to pay off because of his D1 scholarship. He'll get to live in Europe for at least half of a year and probably would have time to help run camps in the summer in the US should he choose. I would be extraordinarily happy to live a life like that for a few years as a recent college grad.

Billy truit played in argentina i believe. Not exactly sure if he was from section V or not but that was back in the old days. He was nasty though, he could jump up and dunk one ball then come around with a ball in his other hand and dunk that too

And lets not forget shooting legend and b ball skills master Tim Sullivan. I believe he had affiliations with a pro team at one point, but more importantly are his training camps and clinics where he has worked with greats such as jj reddick, paul harris and was planning on working with Rondo of the celtics until he backed out.

Leasure is taking part in the "All Star Week" 3pt Contest in Vienna on April 7th and 8th. He was entered in the qualifying rounds based on his season shooting percentage.
