We held him to either 4 or 6 in the finals, a non-factor

well on that team they had alot of trouble because Santeno wanted all the shots along with Beckford. i just know i'd rather play against Castello then Benjamin. it'll be interesting watching those 2 go it this year though.

First of all Beckford was Northstar, Simmons was HAC. Of that group I'd probably take Costello. His freshman and junior years he had guys like Porter, G. karski, and Smalldone playing with him and he could pass and play. Last year without him they would have hard time beating a good JV team. The guy still played well, and got his teammates involved when possible. Unless Benjamin has improved his shooting, he's gonna have a tougher time this year because he doesn't have all those weapons with him. The real sleeper in the group is Rayburn from Bloomfield. Las time I saw him he was 6 foot 6, and if he every puts on some weight he is going to be an amazing force at this level.

thats the thing, he had players to pass to during those years. so he really wasnt accounted for much because teams worried about porter and Karski more. he has the best jumper in the league without question. i am excited to watch him and benjamin go at it. but we will see costello surrounded by talented players again this year which will make him look even better.
players also to watch is Gavin Karski's little brother Benen who is a good all-round ball player and gets others involved and also brendans cousin John Costello who is a beast down low at both ends, he may have the best year out of anyone.

Bloomfield and DeSales yes (assuming those kids transferred to Desales). Dundee (Obviously I'm a little biased on that pick) and Red Jacket will be in there with those two. HAC has Benjamin and Sahsrabudhe (sp???), I"m not sure who else they can put with those two. The real sleeper team might be South Seneca. They have some really good shooters in Barnick and Alsheimer, to go with some pretty decent guards in Steuer, and Gable.

I agree with you about ballard. He plays at 110 MPH. He has the ability and if he checks his head at the door(I think he has matured), he would be one of my picks as a JR.

that is false, rhymes is overrated, he will lose games for DeSales being the type of player he is and maher is not better than bryant fischette. he is an unbelievable scorer and was the only reason his team won games last year, 2 buzzer beaters and he did all that, leading the team in scoring, off the bench.

Brendan Costello is not even close to being the best shooter in section v. Are you serious?.................The Rhymes kid is a decent basketball player but I will say that alot of the players from Geneva who play pickup games with him say he is soft and is not physical at all under the boards. I have seen him play football and judging by his actions on the football field I would bet my paycheck he gets kicked out of a game before the halfway mark finishes. Costello will lead this team no question about that. They definately are a threat to win the league title with the talent around him. They should be careful to not let the actions/attitude of the rhymes kid negatively effect the team as a whole though.

Karski in two games against Dundee had 14 points total against us. two games we beat them by about a total of 50 points in. Taking that back further as a JV player against us he had 12 points in two games won by a total of 50 points as well.

Guy let's be honest here. If DeSales turns it around it will be because those transfers turned them around. If you tell me they are starting Costello, and three new transfers and are going to be good, I'll listen to you. Telling me they are going to start guys we have competed against for four years and know what they are all about is sort of out of the Naples thing right now.
