Player of the Year: Sam Wood Sr. P/1B Campbell-Savona 8-1 90 Strikeouts 11 walks allowed 16 hits in 9 games. Allowed one earned run (six Total)the entire season. That feat resulted in a microscopic 0.16 ERA, breaking a 44 year-old Section V record and sixth all time in NY. At the plate Wood was no slouch batting .379 and racking up a .565 on base percentage. with 18 RBI's.
Mike Rossi Soph. P-1B Bath-Haverling-Batting third for the Rams, he scorched opposing pitchers for a .452 batting average, and collected 142 total bases for the year. He had seven extra base hits, including two Home Runs. On the mound Rossi went 5-2, a number which can be a tad misleading. He struck out 58 batters in 52 innings of work and held opposing hitters to just a .164 batting average.
Joe Wallace Jr. P-2B-SS Avoca: When you hit .432 drive in 32 runs, and have a 1.75 ERA for the state Champions as a sophomore, people might think your're setting yourself up for a letdown in years to come. Wallace would probably consider it a weak season. The Tigers do-it-all man stepped his game up in his Junior season. Increasing his batting average to .477 and his RBI's to a Herculean 38 in 20 games far and away tops on the All Leader squad. 31 hits, 12 doubles .629 slugging percentage 12 stolen bases. Pitching record 4-3 1.08 ERA
Brian Kidder Jr. 3B-SS-P Avoca : Kidders astounding .625 on base percentage from the leadoff spot set the tone for Avoca's offense early and often. He stole 16 bases and scored 32 runs while carrying a .453 average through the season. On the mound he had 28 strikeouts and a 2.83 ERA in limited action.
Will Cornett Sr. SS Campbell-Savona: Batted an amazing .478 with 33 hits, 7 doubles, and five triples had 19 stolen bases and 18 RBI's
Jamie Martin Sr. OF-P Addison: 8-2 on the mound 1.63 ERA 96 strikeouts. At the plate 28 hits, 3 Home Runs and 11 total extra-base hits .369 batting average 26 RBI's 16 stolen bases.
Mike Strong Jr. OF Addison: Hit .413 with 31 hits, 31 RBI's, 31 runs, 3 Home Runs Two of them being Grands Slams tying a New York State record. also stole a school record 27 Stolen bases.
