I haven't followed Wayne County basketball for all that long, but in recent years, it's gotta be Sean Michele.

If Calvin Betts would have stayed and played varsity for the rest of his career than he would have been the best player. he played varsity in 7th grade i think it was and in 8th and then transferred to rush-henrietta where he still dominated and won player of the year. If he would have stayed in wayne county he would have had over a 2,000 point career.

Yeah..Collier Drayton played great for Northwestern! Ervin Bell didn't bother to do anything since high school but get arrested several times. Add him to the wasted talent in Lyons list.

Ervin Bell has a 1 1/2 year old daughter that is related to all 3 of the above. The mother is Terry Brown's niece. This kid has an awesome basketball bloodline from both sides!

You do not run out of eligibility when you are a sophomore (you have 5 years to complete 4 years once you have enrolled full time in college*with exceptions by petition to the NCAA) – your grades make you academically ineligible. If UNC was legitimately recruiting him they would have set him up with a prep school to attend, remain eligible and then matriculate in their program – ala Paul Harris at Syracuse

NO doubt he was a great player with a screwd up head. Would you say he is better than the other guys on that list? I would think Terry Brown has to be considered better, I think Drayton is better, and I'd probably take Jackson over him too.

Terry Brown gets my vote for best & he didn't have a brain either but followed the prep school route then played at Kansas & did great! Drayton had the school smarts to go along with his basketball talent..brother Earl Jackson was even better in my opinion then Clarence but he led a troubled life as well. He is also a call back invite for the Bulldogs this year!

I have a little info on the Ervin Bell situation in Elmira but not much. I helped out at the scorers table or what ever else they needed last year to get free tickets. Ervin was offered a 1 game contract last season late in the year after the Elmira Bulldogs had a former Mississippi Valley State player leave the team for a invite to the NBA D-league pre-draft camp. Ervin had his offer revoked before he ever got a chance to sign because of a former Brockport player named Jerry Cheves returned from Ireland where he had just averaged 23 points per game and he took the roster spot. Jerry is currently playing pro ball again overseas this time in Iceland so it looks like they made the right decision. Ervin is going up against players who have played 4 year's of college and 3 or 4 years of pro basketball. I think he is a long shot to make this roster. The leading scorer from last seasons team is playing pro ball in Venezuela now. You can get most of this info right off of the site.

ECC is usually one of the best communtiy colleges around, year in and year out they have a good/great team. They have 2 players from nigeria this year, and always have good athletes

Yeah they both start and are 6'8. Their 3 man is also 6'6 plus they have a ton of size of the bench. Tough to match up with.

im still waiting on a press release confirming it. but like boobiemiles wrote above hes on the roster list so it looks like he did make it. whats the odds on him starting at point guard ? roster list shows they have a pg who was a starter at NCAA D-1 LIU who averaged 9.7 points and 6.8 rebounds as a junior and senior at LIU according to espn.com
