Although I don't know who this is and would never root angainst anyone trying to get a sectional all-star patch. I will say you never know what is gonna happen on race day. Take my case for example, going into sectionals I had a outside shot at getting a patch in DD, I went on to run the race of my life last year and beat a lot of guys I had never beat and I now have a patch because of that. There are other people who struggle race day. Last year for example Kevin Lin of Geneseo had a great shot at winning the D-DD race and was a sure bet at states and a patch...he then went on to struggle and finish in the 20's overall with nothing to show for it.
Like I said good luck, but you never know what is going to happen, especially in XC

i think that oakfield and N.D. are going to have a good battle for going to states i think oakfield will win class D-D and N.D. will win class D. but its going to come down to a couple points in the merge to see who goes to states for class D.

I'm gonna call an upset in DD this year. I say Pavilion comes back to last years form and pulls off the win against Oakfield. Its still gonna be tough to beat ND...but I say they will atleast get the DD crown.

thatc will be tough but they do seem to do well at sectionals but the same can be said about OA but they have a new coach too

Anything can be possible in the merge....
O-A could win DD, NDB could win D, but another team may come ahead in the merge. It has happened before.
I have been for O-A the whole season. They seem to come through.
However I think that BND is the team to beat.

That happend a few years ago with the Oakfield girls team.
They lost the DD race, but with the merge they ended up beating both of the other teams and moved onto states

Anybody want to explain that to me? I understand that class D only has 1 team going to states but how do they score the merge?
boobiemiles
10-30-2008, 07:51 PM
Alright. Well as you know, the D and DD race is run together, as one race. So basically they score the meet as a whole, and as each seperate class, so as D and as DD. Runners who do not have complete teams are taken out (I think, is that right?) and they score the meet as if it were any other invitational.
Then for each class, so D and DD, they just filter out all of the teams from the other class and figure out the champion that way.

You could be like the Mynderse girls team.
They are going to states but have no trophy to show for it.
Yeah, in the merge they won, but they did not win a sectional trophy.
I still think that I would like the piece of wood instead of just going to states to get like 10th place.
