i just got home from the eddie meath game and i'm not happy. that marshall coach should never get another chance to coach the game.
i talked to some parents and they said the practices were a joke, the team got crushed 38-0 and most of the small school kids saw almost no playing time. two of the three le roy kids only got in the game for the final defensive series of the game.
i've been to seven or eight of these games and this one was a joke.

sorry i didn't get to meet up with you dan.
but there were a lot of problems with this game. before the game i heard from some of the parents that the west practices were a mess and they didn't work on much. one parent went to a practice and said the kids were just messing around and the coaches had no control.
then the game starts and west never had a chance after the first series of the game resulted in a punt that went of the side of the punter's foot. and the small school kids didn't get any playing time. if the coach thought they were going to come back from a 24-0 deficit at the half by playing the big school kids, he's nuts.
west's quarterbacks went a combined 3-for-15 for 34 yards and four interceptions. i know mark bennetti made the squad as a defensive back, but maybe he should have gotten some playing time at qb.
bennetti and kevin brady from le roy didn't get into the game until the final minutes and the score was already 31-0 and the clock was running. east scored again, making it 38-0, and there were a lot of upset people. bennetti and brady didn't even stick around for the post game awards because they were so mad about not getting in the game.
it was an all-star game and a blowout. there is no reason why those kids shouldn't have gotten in the game.
i've been to seven or eight of these games and it's usually a good time. but between the fighting, the penalties, the poor coaching and the lack of playing time by most of the kids in my coverage area, this was a terrible game.

What a shame.That takes away from why the game is played in the first place.Which is to have fun,and raise some money.This game meant nothing in terms of win or loss.Every player was an all star and should of received equal playing time.It cannot be justified that a player like Letchworth's Derrick Buttles,who will be playing D-1 next year and other small school players didn't deserve to play.Maybe section v should make it a rule for equal playing time in this game.Hopefully some parents and coaches will step in and complain so this doesn't happen again in the future
