so you think losing jj mazur at qb and justin williams (when he played) at rb won't mean anything? ace is a good kid and a good back, but i'm pretty sure cal-mum would handle him much better than humphrey from le roy.
geiger is a great coach and he has the potential to turn batavia back into a power, but this isn't the year. the program needs a few years to get good enough to play with cal-mum or le roy.

Yes,I guess that is what I'm saying.Williams was insignificant last year and quit after a couple of games. Rob Williams(no relation),who will be taking over at QB is a alot more athletic and naturally talented than Mazur although he has never played QB before.He is a sprinter and can move. He has been doing a nice job in scrimmages this offseason against some big schools.As for Ace,I think that how much he sees the ball will depend on how good the line is.Ace is a power, straight ahead runner that needs a really good block to get yards. If the O line struggles at all look for Rob Williams and Cabrera to get most of the carries.Cabrera is the same kind of runner that Humphery is and can improvise if the hole is not there.I don't see Batavia throwing alot this year though.

Sorry CalMum fans and Hilly.Batavia's got to much talent this year not to win this one.They have returning all league selections Flynn,Nanni,Ace and Cabrera.Godlove and Rob Williams are back after being injured last year and Godlove is a train wreck.Cabrera is getting D-1 looks and is profiled on scout.com along with section v's Collier and Zapata.The only key loss from last year was Mruczak at linebacker but Godlove is back from injury to fill that spot by at least an extra 100lbs.It remains to be seen if it is enough to win a really tough league schedule..They moved down in class but their schedule got harder.Go figure.3 AA games,2 A games and Leroy.Tough road to sectionals.I'm just guessing that none of the other B schools play any A schools at all.

I'm really going to take some heat for picking Batavia to beat Leroy this year IF Batavia can minimize their penalties,and Cabrera can get enough touches.Batavia's low roster numbers might hurt them though.If they lose by 30 points every person who read this will remind me.That's OK,I'll take it like the armchair quarterback that I am.

i live in batavia and i really think geiger is the right guy, but the team is a year or two away. if they beat cal-mum or leroy, i'd be shocked. don't forget, you are talking about two of the top programs in all of the state.
cabrera is a great player, but batavia will have the roster size of alexander, oakfield and elba. things are moving in the right direction, but i'll take cal-mum in this game. monacelli has run a great program for like 300 years.
give batavia time. geiger will have them winning class a titles. it just isn't this year.

I guess time will tell.Hopefully it will be a good game.What Batavia has going for them this year that they haven't had in least a few years is confidence.They really think that they can play with anybody and win and won't be intimidated.I think that last years games were lost before they even started.This years team doesn't seem to have that problem.They seem to have developed Cabreras cockiness...uh maybe confidence is a better word.Either way it has been great for the team.You can't win unless you think you can beat the guy in front of you!
