Thought it might be interesting to get others thoughts on some of the Top Players and Top Coaches in Section V (All Levels A-D). Top Players in Class C/D might not be recognized if we only talk about "A - B" so lets try to spread the wealth.
My first thought as one ot the Top Coaches is Ray Maxwell at Livonia. Continues to develop quality teams and certainly quality players.
Player from the D's Aaron Rygiel Alfred Almond is one that comes to mind. Only going to be a Junior (is that correct?)
I have more, but I will wait to see what comes in from the rest of you.

As for larger schools, Matt Schuber from Webster-Thomas was the only non-Senior on the 1st or 2nd Teams for All State selections. He's the best all around player in the area. I wouldn't be surprised to see him follow another Thomas Alumnae, Eric Kreider, to Syracuse or another Big East school. He's an excellent athlete and skillful player.
George Tor from the Jefferson/Franklin (or whatever the combo is) is one of the most skilled players in Section V since the Ukrainians came through in the mid 90s. Hopefully he can get his academics up to par, but if not he's the kind of player who will be playing professionally in the near future.
Scott Zorn from Churchville Chili, Jared Gentile, Seth Kirnie and Mike Frank from Fairport, Yannick Prescod and Josh Faga from McQuaid, Jacques Kolodja from the Jefferson/Franklin team, Nekabari Tor and Krystian Witkowski from Aquinas...
I am missing so many good players.
Another small school team to watch in the near future is Geneseo. They have like 5 or 6 new Liberian refugee families that have relocated to town. The players who are in 7-11th grade could really become special players.

Olix, Rygiel enjoy summer soccer success
One thing that this area is known for is for raising amazing athletes, and the game of soccer has provided some of the greatest local success stories to date. Matt Olix and Aaron Rygiel, who both play for the Alfred-Almond Central School varsity boys soccer team, have managed to stand out recently in different ways and in very different locales.
Matt Olix, a starting outside midfielder for the under-17 boys' team for the Buffalo United Soccer Club, recently helped the team to the New York State Western Division championship in the U.S Youth National Soccer Tournament. Buffalo United traveled to Portland, Maine for the Region I tournament, playing in a very competitive bracket against the eventual tournament-winner, FC Delco ( Philadelphia's top soccer club and the Eastern Pennsylvania State Champions). FC Delco managed to score quickly in the game and Buffalo eventually met its Demise. The team then tied it's second game against Hechessan club team--The Delaware state champions--before suffering a 3-0 defeat by the state champions from Vermont. Standing out for his team, Olix managed to snag Buffalo's best scoring opportunity with a head ball off the cross bar midway through the first half. Olix will be entering his senior year at Alfred-Almond and is looking to continue discussions with a number of NCAA Division I schools to play at the next level in 2008.
Working with Olix to propel Alfred-Almond to another Section V Class DD Championship is Rygiel, a Local Soccer Player who is currently touring with the Charlotte Eagles(North Carolina) in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.
In January, Rygiel met with the Coaches of the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Convention in Indiana. though he was only 15 years old at the time, coaches from area colleges and other clubs supported his nomination, and he also has phenomenal backing from the community.
Rygiel will be in Brazil until August 3rd participating in camps, clinics, and friendly games against local clubs, while playing the game he loves most--soccer. Rygiel will be entering his junior season at Alfred-Almond and was named to the All-Greater Rochester team last season.
Both Olix and Rygiel will be showing their stuff this fall, battling with the Eagles in an attempt to win another section V title and make a repeat trip to the NYS Class D tournament.-The Evening Tribune

Wow, those are some impressive resumes for Class D players. The FC Delco team that Buffalo United lost to is one of the top youth teams in the nation constantly putting out professional players and national team players like Ben Olsen (DC United, US National Team), and Bobby Convey (Reading FC in English Premier League) and many many other top players.

THe team to not sleep on is Harley Allendale Columbia. THey only graduated a few players from last years team and have their core players returning. They have moved on from the day so Luke Lennox and Nick Cinquino but have a very solid nucleus for another Sectional Run.

Top Large school players DrewVT6 you are forgetting matt schuber and mike reidy from thomas, also Brad Shelofsky and Nick Garcia from Greece Athena. Garcia could be the top sophomore in the Rochester Area.

Churchville vs. Thomas......?? Good joke.....Thomas yes.....Churchville hahah got a better shot with wilson. And you are leaving out possibly the best team in the state, McQuaid. They are by far the best team in section V. They probably have the best center midfield core in the northeast with Nick Puglise, Josh Faga, and Conor O' Leary (O' Leary is going to Maryland). And Athena could be in the final too. (They always give Thomas a tough game)

I agree with everything except the fact you left off probably the best player in section v small schools. Anthony Roden - Red Creek Midfielder...single handedly dominated the state finals game in '05 (as a sophomore) and continues to prove why he is one of the best in section v. Many D1 schools are interested.

I'm aware that Red Creek is an awesome soccer team but I'll also admit that I'm not that familiar with them as far as players, and they don't get alot of media coverage.

I have a hard time believing mendon will have a down year any year. wasnt last year supposed to be their down year? if im not mistaken they lost in the sectional final. Sutherland looks good...a little inexperienced after a tie to RH, but still pretty good.
And brighton is in class AA now.

You can't leave out Anthony Danizio from ER. ER has a lot of talent all over the field and in goal - but if you've ever seen Ant play, he's unquestionably one of the best players in any small school. (Don't know about big schools).
