Being a former fairport lax player from the good old days... class of 85, I was just wondering what are some of the former coaches & players & thoughts on this. My few picks: soudan, Mapes, rosa, stuver, darcangelos, the kid from irondeqouit that played @ maryland just to name a few. Love to see what others think.

Matt Hanna and Scott Ditzel from Geneva, Tim Booth from Waterloo, pretty much any Queener from Penn Yan, the Webster kid at Duke, Tom Rynn from Fairport, Michael Manley from PY. I'm sure there are others that I missed but that's off the top of my head.

Absolutely! Not only a great lax and football player but a super kid as well. Comes from a great family. Mike was named the ACC Freshman of the Year this past season

how about Chris Schiller (current Knighthawk/Rattler and McQ grad) and Tim Soudan (ex-Khawk/Rattler and Fairport grad)? Also, Mike Levin of the Rattlers (Pittford grad I believe) and, Pat Dutton (Webster/Rattlers). I'm sure there are more.

Drew is a talented hs sophomore, but you might want to read the title of the thread again. It's the best section V players in the last 25 years. Drew has not even played varsity lacrosse yet and you have him on a list with Tim Soudan, Joe Walters, Brett Queener, etc...Maybe he will make this list in the future.
I gave him props on the best soph lax thread.

Canandaigua doesn't have a 1 in 1 million chance of winning a Class A title this year. And THAT is a fact.:D

Well, I'm just busting you. They can't win a Class A championship this year because................they're a Class B team for 2009. It should be the most competitve class w/ Corning East, Jamesville Dewitt, Irondequoit, Niskayuna, and others. Never mind the downstate and LI representatives. Good Luck in 2009 though.

hahhhhhhhhh damn u got me there i forgot they moved to class B i know Irondequit was still in their class so I was just thinking class A still my bad. But yeah trust me CA=State champs in lax this year we have the toughest schedule in NY state. They play At Orchard Park, Corning East and Hamburg. They play in a regular season tourney in Conn. vs some of the top teams in the nation and rumors are West Genny is gonna be there. And they play Penn yan and Mquaid at home.
Oh they also play fairport at home I'm not sure if they are good ik they gave our JV team a great game last year.

Daniel Hand tourney invites some of the nations top teams, so that is an honor. West Genesee goes every year. But, it's a 1 day, preseason scrimmage against 3 other teams in the field. It gives the teams a chance to see where they stand prior to the regular season. A measuring stick as they say.
What's up w/ the WF logo? ACC fan? Big win over NC.

Did anyone watch the Duke v MD game this weekend? I've never seen Groot play before and I was impressed with his scrappy style. They kept saying he was an offensive middie, but I thought he also did a great job on the defensive end. What a game for Grant Catalino! It was a good showing for some of the Section V players on both teams...

Saw it. Good game for the Terps ....and Groot is an "offensive middie" when you compare him to a short stick defensive specialist. But IMO he is just a great all around player. Saw him play last year (and Big Cat) at Hopkins on Homecoming day, great day except Hopkins won, lol! Go Terps and Section V!
